Jane's POV
As I stepped inside, the door shut behind me with a loud click, and just like that, I was alone.
I stood there for a moment, unmoving. Listening and hoping that someone might come back. But no one came. No footsteps, no voices, no life. Just silence and my uneven breathing.
Slowly, I moved toward the bed and sat down. My hands trembled slightly as I placed them on my lap.
“Why did my life take a drastic turn like this?” I whispered.
I didn't do anything. Why won't he believe me?
My chest tightened as I remembered Alpha Liam's face. Just like the last time, he didn't believe me. He never did.
