Jane's POV
Was this the same lady Josephine talked highly about? I wondered as I stared at her. I can't believe Josephine said she was a nice person. How is this nice? She couldn't even regard Josephine with respect.
“I'm sorry, Aria. She's new here,” Josephine apologized.
I was tempted to roll my eyes, but I didn't. I was already on Aria's bad side. I don't want to make it worse for myself.
“You can go. I'll take it from here,” Aria said.
I turned on my heels thinking she was referring to me. “Where are you going?” Her question stopped me.
“Me?” I asked, pointing at my chest.
“No, your ancestors,” she said, sarcasm laced in her voice. “Phinny, you can leave me alone with her. I need to make the rules clear to her,” she said, turning to Josephine.
