20. Married

1060 Words

Rachel’s POV I sucked the tears back in as I lifted my eyes, meeting with Darius's intense gaze, one that never ceased to make my heart skip. His eyes were steel grey, piercing through me almost as though he could still see through me. Which had me shivering in fear. Darius’s gaze roamed over me, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of attraction. But I knew better. This was only a business deal, with no strings attached. As I reached the altar, Dad passed my hands to Dariu’s, his cold hands coming in contact with my small ones. “Take care of her,” my dad says, to which he nods. Darius helped me up the altar before the ceremony began. Only a few people were invited to witness the wedding. We agreed to lay low and invite only relatives, and we didn’t want to make it public.
