Hello?!" The other person on the line answered. Eveline sat on the floor of the bedroom. Her back against the foot of the bed, keens pulled to her chest. She didn't remember sitting down. She didn't remember she didn't remember picking up her phone either. Her body had been moving on her own for a while now. The phone rang twice before the other someone picked up. The sound of loud pop music being played, as screaming voices burst through the speakers drowning down the voice of any would speak until they screamed. A club. Of course. The world was still running. Anna looked at the caller ID but couldn't recognize the number. "Who is this...you better start talking or I cau---." "Anna" Eveline caught off the lady on the line as she called out her name. Silence. The sounds of someone walking off somewhere with doors opening and closing could be heard, the music fading. Anna quickly ran to the closest quite place she could find. "Ev-Eveline, Baby is that you? baby talk to me" Anna says, her voice dropping to something careful and soft. she heard the other person on the line break into tears. She ransacked through her bag in search for her car keys, she made her way to her car. "Baby please talk to me." Eveline opened her mouth and what came out wasn't words. It was a sound she hadn't made since the miscarriage. Something broke loose in her. "He left me A...he left with her A, after everything...he left". Finaly Eveline spoke as she broke out into cracked voice, she cried even more. "Left? left with who...did Kent leave you? For who...sh*t. Baby stay where you are okay, I'm coming okay." Anna says. Inhaling sharply, she turns on the car engine and drove off. Eveline sat there on the floor listening to a car engine start and cried until she had no tears left. ---- "Eve...Eve!!, baby where are you?" Anna screams as she bust the front door open, heading up the stairs as she sights Eveline laid out on the bed covered in her own tears. Anna crossed the room in four steps, laid down at the edge of the bed, and pulled Eveline into her arms. "Baby...babe, shhshh, I'm here okay. He's not worth them tears okay. It's going to be fine...I'm here now". "Anna...a-an, I'm sorry okay, I really am." Eveline says as she hugs her best friend who she has lost contact of for 4 years. A year after she married into the Clifford's home. Four years since she'd seen this face. "Hey." Anna held her face in both hands. "Don't you apologize to me right now I don't know what has happened, but it is not your fault okay." They stayed like that for what felt like an hour as Anna broke the silence. "Want to go home with me baby, hmm" she says as she brushes her friend's hair down in a calming way. Feeling Eveline shake her head in agreement, she picked her up and looked around for her phone. Anna takes Eveline to her car and they set straight for Anna's penthouse. She punched in the code and leads Eveline in. Eveline walked to the couch absent mindedly as she stares into nothingness. Anna offers her a glass orange juice. and she sits close to her. Held her hand and pats it gently. Eveline looks at her and immediately spills everything that transpired in the last four years from the death of her baby, to yesterday night as Eveline had witnessed everything that broke the last hope she still held onto, to the divorce. Only leaving out the event with the one-night stand with the stranger. And now here. When Eveline finished, the room sat in silence for a moment. Anna looked at her best friend. Broken and shattered. She felt her heart ache for her. Angered and frustrated that she couldn't do anything while her friend was in pain. She looked at the face of her friend, who was envied by many for not just her beauty, but her brains...her brains was something else. Anna knew this would someday happen, and she always told her friend that Kent was not someone she should quit her acting and modeling career for, but she wouldn't listen. "I know he would come around. I just need to show him that I could be the wife he can come back to." She would say. Until one day she told her not to look for her anymore, saying that her husband finds her way of life unfitting of a well groomed lady to be around. Since then we hadn't talked. "That's it, you are just gonna give up like that." She lifts Eveline's face, turning her body to meet hers. "You, are many things during these past few years, but not a coward. Lets teach these sick f**ks who Eveline Miller is." She stated cleaning the tears that fell from her eyes and held her hands, taking them in hers. "Eve, I love you...okay and I'm not mad at ya, you know what. F**k em. F**k them all. We are going to go into that f**king house and get your stuff and the divorce papers. Can't forget that. And we are going get you back on your feet again. Together. Okay."
