"What could it be I ask myself?" I ask myself. My unders already boiling I take a seat. "So Mr Peter welcome to this board meeting we are discussing about the kitty awarded to us by the government . You are aware we we're awarded 12.6 billion but our performance track shows that we spent 7.4 billion. In that case the remaining figure is to be returned to the national government. Being the county executive committee we have agreed that we are going to do something to ensure this remaining figure does not go back. You being a learned accountant we have decided to involve you so that you will know how you will adjust your books of records so as to cover that figure," the governor says after I sit. Before I get time to react Mr John speaks "Mr Peter what's your view and say on this? Your share is actually 1.5% of the stated remaining figure," he finishes while adjusting his spectacles. I face down and then clear my throat so as to start speaking. The old men fix their gazes on me expectantly. "Okay Mr Governor and the county committee I have heard what you have said and I ask you to give me time to think about it. I have to take a keener look on my books of accounts to avoid loopholes so I ask for added time to think about your proposal..." I answer before am cut short by some plump short guy, "Excuse me young man I hope you know the government's budget will be read on June 1st and today is May 14th so there is no time to think about what we are telling you. If in case you find it hard we can look for someone else to help you," he says with a tone of finality. "Is this right?" I ask myself. The real me tries to battle the ideal me. "If I refuse this people's proposal they will definitely fire me" I reason out. "Mr Peter so what's your response?" the governor asks me. "Okay boss I agree but give me a week to fill all the gaps and make sure the books of accounts are fully filled," I answered. They murmured in low tones till they finally agreed to give me a week. I walked out of that office with lots of thoughts about how I was going to do it. After going to my office a lot of thoughts flooded me. The day went so fast and I soon had to end the day and go back to my house. As I headed back to my house I played 'Closer' by chainsmokers and got carried by the lyrics and I thought about Khloe how true was she to me? I decided to call her immediately I reach home. The traffic wasn't heavy so after close to 25 minutes I arrived. I alighted and headed for my flat. Funny enough I never associated with my neighbours. So after opening the door to my flat I removed my jacket and hanged it on the wardrobe and then loosened my tie. I folded the sleeves of my shirt and decided to make a phone call to Khloe. I dialled her number, she received it and the following conversation ensued-

Khloe: Hello daddy how was your day?

Me:Hello too love it was awesome how about yours?

Khloe:It was awesome .By the way my birthday will be on 2nd next month I hope you will buy me the ring we saw in Jade collection. I also hope you will get me a car sweetheart...

Me:(interupting) bae let's first wait for that day stop all these fancy dreams...

Khloe:(Answering sharply)you call them fancy dreams!Take a look at all my friends they are going for holidays in Dubai and touring the world not to mention the heavy machines they drive!

Me:Okay relax I will see about it. Let me hit the gym we will talk later goodbye love

Khloe:goodbye. Take care I love you

After ending the phone call I change for the gym because I need to be fit.
