Chapter 8

Keegan's POV Looking at my two sisters in front of me felt strange. Tyson and I hadn't seen Lycan in so long it felt like we were meeting again for the first time. She was the middle of the two of us, but she was always our protector. But as the words had poured out of her, it was only just how much she had given to us that made my chest hurt. "Keegan, would you like to get something to eat?" her gravelly voice pulled me from my thoughts. I shook my head at her as we went back to silence.  Alpha Blue and Marco were speaking close by with Lucifer, all of which hadn't taken their eyes of Lycan. "Keegan." Her voice called out again. "Go inside with Marco, now. Tyson, you too." Jumping to her feet she had a protective stance in front of us, Dracul's laughter filling the air. "Ah Little Lycan, I've missed you, my sweet angel." His form appeared in front of her gently stroking her cheek. "Tyson is nothing compared to you, but alas, I always did have to take second best."  "Marco, take them. NOW." Her voice ricocheted around the trees. "What do you want Dracul?" He laughed as he watched Marco pick up both up and run into the house. "I want to tell you all a little story."   "Ok, but that doesn't mean you have to touch me." Lycan's POV I waited until I heard the lock turn on the door before I really looked at him. He was right about second best. He had nothing on Lucifer. Even Morningstar called him a runt.  He tried to use his piercing blue eyes to intimidate me. But I couldn't allow it to work anymore. "Well, you said you had a story?" Lucifer appeared next to me. But Dracul and I never broke eye contact. "Ah yes, are you sure you don't want the sisters to hear this to? After all, it would make sense for them to know why demons ripped their family limb from limb in front of them."  Lucifer's POV With those last words I had to wrap my hands around her wrists before she jumped at him. He was the only person I knew that fought dirtier than her. "No? Well I'll just carry on. Morningstar, good old daddy, only cared about this thing holding you. And the rage drove me to want to hurt him. But how do you hurt a reigning Devil? Well, you target their Lynx. And I searched high and low for you, child. And I don't know how they managed it, but I couldn't find you. But then a helper of the moon goddess told me about a blessed family in a little Suffolk pack." He chuckled to himself, "I say told me, I was ripping his wing off at the time." Members of the council had begun to appear around us all. "Ah Gabriel, lovely to see you," His menacing glance flashing in all directions as he began to acknowledge the new comers. "We paid the village a little visit, but you're a special kind of Lynx. You had no traceable scent or traits. And neither did your darling sisters. So I had to take all three of you. And eradicate your parents in the process. Oh, how I enjoyed making the three of you watch me. You, stood in front of your sisters, small as you were and you shielded their eyes from the sight, but no one was there to shield yours. But as strong and brave as you were, I still couldn't be sure. So the three of you came with me." Lycan's heart was racing, she was still in my hands now, her eyes tracking every single move my brother made in front of us. "So I took you to my keep. And watched all of you intently. I worked it out from the start that the little one wasn't of use. But Tyson managed to persuade me to hand her over to the Moon Goddess, and for me to create some kind of tie with them. You were, after all three gifts from the moon. And not even I could step in the way of that. But that left me with the two of you. But your heart beats felt different. And that's when I knew. I knew exactly how I could torment my brother, without killing you. Oh, you and I both know I still had my fun with you for the years I had you." He began to circle us, his longing gaze falling on her as he spoke. "Oh I've missed you. You never felt like you were going to break. You, you took everything and more. Do you let Lucifer do all the things to you that I taught you? Does he get to reap the fruits of my labour." "Carry on with your story, Tepes." her voice was quiet, the grin on his face to become even wider. "You know what happened from there, though don't you? You lived it. You lived through not just your abuse, but even after I cast you out, you lived through Tyson's too. Every missed heart beat of hers, you felt ringing through you. Every time she cried. Every time she screamed or was hurt, you felt that right here." He was close enough to touch her heart. "But perhaps, you don't remember the night the witch came? How could you, I had you on a drug. I made you do so many things that night, and I got to enjoy every single part of you, without having that smart mouth of yours to contend with." He looked at me. "She felt other pain as well. My pain. The nights she feels broken, they were all my doing. Because what's the use of a lynx, who can't function?" "Lycan, is this true?" I look at her face, and see the wave of realisation hitting her. "The witch helped me take a piece of you. And I sent a broken Lynx. And important weapon and tool for any ruling Devil, and his little one was broken before she even got going. But I can't die. Lucifer wouldn't allow anything to happen to you, little Lycan. I see the way he looks at you. Some very naughty blurred lines that he should have known better." "What do you gain from doing all this?"  "Ah the pain of you all is fulfilling enough for me. And that little thing in there can't be without me." "Because you've f*****g brain washed her." "That maybe the case, but she's desperate for me. I heard her screams, Blue. Must be heartbreaking for your tiny little mate to beg for another man. But just remember, I'm basically immortal." he laughed once more before disappearing as quickly as he had come. "Blue, take us to your meeting room. We need to discuss this all. Now." My father took charge for the first time in years. "Lycan, go to your sisters and stay there until I come and get you. Do you hear me?" She nodded her head before breaking my hold at last. Blue and I watched her retreating figure until she reached the pack house. Lycan's POV As soon as I entered the room, my sisters were passed out on the sofa. Leaving me alone with the man called Marco.  "I'm guessing his voice carried?" To hell with the rules I'm meant to follow. "Yeah, it got to me. As it did those two." He nodded again to my sisters, and I took in their tear stained faces. "I know you're going to have to follow whatever plan they come up with, but I need you to make a deal with me." Our eyes met, before he nodded, telling me to go on.
