OLIVER'S POV
A knock on Oliver's door brought him out of his dreams.
"Honey please come out for a minute" his mom, called from behind the door, Oliver's eyes slowly fluttered open, deeply annoyed at the fact that his dream was interrupted, although it was very random and weird, still , he got to kiss DiCaprio, a win was a win, he was barely awake as he searched the bed for his phone, the light from it flashed on his face as he checked the time, boldly written on it "6:14".
"What the f**k" he muttered more to himself, why did she have to wake him up by this time. "I'll be down in a minute" he answered before dropping his phone back on the bed, he was so startled by the knock, and surprised by the hour said knock had come in that he hadn't noticed the 'hard on' he woke up with, the boy only groaned as he picked up a pillow , slightly smothering his face.
"I'm so gay" he managed to muffle , dramatically rolling off his bed and landing on the floor with a loud thud.
******
The slamming of his door must have announced his arrival, as his mum quickly made her way to the foot of the stairs, waiting for Oliver to appear.
"Oliver, please make breakfast, I need to be at work early today, I have a new client, and I need to see him this morning before he begins school here" she seemed out of breath probably from all the hurrying.
"... here?, as in new to town?" He hoped she'd give him some more information, she was always very professional about her job that she never speaks about her clients.
"..yes, he'll probably be in your classes , he's your age..." she paused before letting out a sigh, "... don't be weird" she let out firmly, the last bit sounding more like a warning than basic info, probably an indirect way of letting him know that it shouldn't be a thing, or to not mention it at all, those thoughts and and little warning lingered in his mind as she headed for the door now.
"I'm sorry I woke you up, a text would have been better now that I think about it" her hand already at the door ready to leave.
"It's fine, Bye mom" the boy said, arms folded, standing at the top of the stairs, swallowed up in a large tee and equally large pair of pyjama pants.
"Bye love , and Oliver..." she popped her head back through the door , ".... Dad would be back this weekend" she announced with a smile, which made him smile too, he missed his dad, although he called once in a while when he was less busy, the man was hardly ever around, and he feared one day communication with him would be awkward, he wouldn't want that to happen, ever. Ava didn't need an answer, the smile she got from her son was enough, as though on cue she closed the door and was gone.
Oliver stared at the door for a minute or so, thinking about nothing and everything at the same time. Him going back to bed, his dad coming back, the new kid at school, how awkward would it be that his mum was his therapist, what if they really had classes together, the boy had thought it weird.
But maybe they'd be few , and he wouldn't even talk to the guy, let's face it, generally, he didn't talk to anyone, yes some 'heys' and 'hellos' here and there , but that was it. Still the boy was a bit curious, mums clients were hardly ever teens or kids.
"Hey crapsack!" . He heard from behind, the voice startling him a bit, realizing it was only Owen , he internally groaned. As he decided to ignore the boy entirely.
"Not today Owen, not today!" The older brother, answered with strain and exhaustion in his voice, he planted his palms on the little boys face ,grabbing yet pushing him out of his way so he could go back to his room.
"Ew! Don't touch my face with your wanking hands , you wankmaggot" Owen practically yelled as he tried to smack Oliver's hand away. "That's a new one" Oliver acknowledged, hands still on the other boys face. he didn't care that he was being insulted, he just felt the boy was becoming more creative.
"Go to bed " he shoved him a bit, before making his way to his room, plopping on his bed with a sigh. There was no point sleeping anymore, it'll almost be time for school, he just really needed to get away from that brat.
He loved the boy to death, and he knew his brother did too, their relationship while they were younger was much better, Owen always wanted to be around him, most times waking up at the dead of night to sleep in his room because he was scared of monsters, I guess his little brother is just going through a phase, the name calling just started and it became a thing. Sometimes Oliver thought he meant it, but he knew Owen better than that.
Oliver managed to make breakfast and make it through breakfast , only possible because for some odd reason, Owen decided to stay quiet.
"Dad will be back this weekend" the boy wanted to make small talk, firstly because the younger boy wasn't saying anything, seeing as they were both alone, and secondly because maybe, just maybe he dreaded the fact that the boy might be scheming.
"Yh.. Yh.. I overheard" Owen answered nonchalantly whilst shoving eggs in his mouth not looking away from the plate. Oliver was confused as to why he seemed unbothered their dad would be home after God knows how many months , was the awkwardness he feared having with his dad, slowly creeping into the relationship between him and Owen? Or was he angry at him? , the boy was younger after all, and when Oliver was his age , his dad didn't go on business trips this much, not business trips per say, the man had been transferred to another branch outside the town but he didn't want his family to move, so he was doing the moving, back and forth, quite frequently..."
"Well aren't you excited, you and I know you miss him" he tried to get across to Owen , but it was futile, seeing as the boy stood up abruptly grabbing his back pack to leave.
"Clueless dorkwad" Owen muttered, but his brother caught it, before Oliver could get a word out, he was already out the door.
"Not today.." Oliver breathed, mostly encouraging and calming himself as he cleared the plates, grabbing his bag to leave for school too.
