I could see her stiffen at the sound of the door and she turned her back quickly away. I hadn’t even been looking at the scars, but she was nervous. “Good morning, sweet. Are you ready to get your bandage on?” I asked. She preferred it if I ignored her strange actions. I knew how much they affected her, but any effort I made to reassure her was met with a blush and no eye contact.
