Once I’d finished reading the rule book, I looked at the other two. They were both books from the bag that Tamsin loaned me. I checked the inside of the covers and they both had her initials. Gary must have taken them from my room. I set them on the nightstand and went to examine the windows. They were painted shut. I wouldn’t be able to open them. I wasn’t strong enough. Even if I did, I was on the second floor. There was no tree or trellis, no bushes to break my fall. I wouldn’t fare well in that drop. I looked in the closet, hoping for an access to the attic space or a little access door to the next room. Nothing. The room was completely closed off from anything else. That was pretty much my only hope for something that wouldn’t involve me having to do the things I didn’t want to.
