Jaxon guided me down to the gazebo in the lower part of the yard. It was covered in white fairy lights and looked beautiful. Two ranch hands were there keeping kids out of it, but they let us through. I suspected Jaxon had reserved the space so I wouldn’t get hurt in the press of kids enjoying the light show. I was grateful.
Jaxon stood in front of me. I looked up into his gorgeous gray eyes as he smiled softly. He tucked a stray curl behind my ear and pulled me against him into a swaying slow dance as the music from the house changed moods. Teddy told me they always played a slow song before the fireworks were announced. It quieted the loud crowd.
