After Juniper left, I gathered everything from the bathroom, along with our clothes from yesterday, and put them in the washing machine. The comforter wouldn’t fit, and I didn’t want to take it up to my parents’ washer. They didn’t need to know what we were doing. I took it off the bed and draped it over the patio furniture outside, hoping it would dry in the next hour or so.
Once that was done, I went back and sat on the couch in the little living room. Juniper was perfect. I couldn’t believe I didn’t get what she was trying to say, but feeling her warm silky skin under my fingers had completely numbed my brain to anything but my desire to hear her cry my name.
