It has been hours, days, probably even weeks of unbearable pain. I was so ready to give up, but Bridget’s voice kept giving me comfort. Not even Ambar seemed to have the fight in her anymore.
Even then, the last few hours have been ten times worse, and I didn’t even know it was possible. The only thing I hoped was that Caleb couldn’t feel my pain. I have heard that mates, especially when marked and mated, feel each other’s pain. I’m not sure to what extent and if it was only when one was being unfaithful or died. Goddess, I hope those were the only two times.
“We are ready.” Bridget said suddenly, making me furrow my brows even further since I have had them like that ever since my pain started.
