Chapter 93: Fate of the Warrior

1019 Words
While the ladies looked after Carey’s cold dead body, the man came back with a plethora of strange wild flowers and herbs in his hand. One of the ladies took the herbs from his hand, while the other kept praying with her eyes closed. Then the woman singled out the herbs and flowers and placed them one after the other in a straight line all over Carey’s body from top to bottom. Ram counted seven of them, placed carefully starting from his forehead to his feet. He thought they were making this up and was expecting them to crush the herbs and turn them into some medicine. But then the three of them held each other’s hand and sat beside his body and closed their eyes, like they were meditating. 30 seconds went by and nothing happened, Carey was still not moving and Ram was getting impatient. But soon enough Ram felt a strange warmth coming from the ground underneath. The ground was pulsating like it was alive. He could hear a low hum emanating from under his feet. Soon the soft green grass swayed back and forth as if an invisible wave was passing through them. He noticed that the plants and trees around him made a low sizzling sound as if they were talking to each other. The earth was shaking, the trees were talking, the birds were chirping- mother-nature had come to life! Ram looked at Carey’s body, the herbs and flowers, placed upon his body were beginning to dissolve into his skin. Carey’s cold body slowly seemed to come back to life, the clotted blood and the stab wound was healing itself. Two minutes later, Ram saw Carey trying to breathe through his slightly open mouth. He’s back! He’s alive! A minute later, everything went back to normal and the strange people opened their eyes and smiled. “Mother nature had brought him back,” the man said, “but we still have to rid him off the darkness that has seeped into his veins, or else he might not wake up,” “Do whatever you have to but please wake him up,” Ram begged the strange people. Minutes later, Carey was being carried away on a chariot that the strange people brought. Ram walked beside him as they took him towards the lush green mountains. “Where are we going?” Ram interjected. “To our home, our master can cure him!” replied the man. “Tell me, how did you arrive here? And what has struck your friend?” asked one of the females. Ram took a huge gulp down his throat. Even though he hadn’t seen the one who had hit him earlier and almost took Carey’s life, he suspected what could have done such a terrible deed. He knew there was only one who could inflict such harm- the small dagger, with a serpent engraved on its handle and the overall feeling of an impending evil. This was the work of the evil witch, whom his master had fought and defeated earlier. Defeated, not killed; his master could never take a life. But he was too scared to even think of that evil woman. “We arrived through a door, through an ancient temple, high up in the icy mountains, eh, my Sahib has many enemies but alas! I can’t be certain who had hurt him,” Ram replied hesitantly. The three strangers looked at each other with curious eyes as they followed the chariot from behind. Ram looked at the horse that drove the chariot, it was an amazing beast. Nothing like those rugged animals from his world. Its coat was white ass snow and it was muscular yet gentle. “Beg your pardon, eh, is this Shamballa?” Ram asked them. “Ah, we haven’t heard that name in a long time, well it used to be called Shamballa but now we don’t have a name, ever since that incident-” one of the ladies replied but stopped herself immediately. Ram was curious now. Could they be talking about that incident? The one with the destruction and teleportation of Shamballa that led to the reincarnation of his master? But that happened thousands of years ago! Meanwhile, Carey’s soul had immediately withdrawn itself to his body, the minute the strangers cured his wound. But now he was trapped in his own mind, alone and dreaming. The evil from the dagger was still in his blood. The necromantic magic was too powerful this time to be ridden so easily. And since he was back in his body, he was starting to have some terrible dreams and nightmares that was beginning to cause him some serious sleep paralysis. His body started to stiffen up and he clenched his mouth and chewed his teeth whilst still being unconscious. The evil would destroy his mind if he was not fully cured within the hour… Ashanti stripped off her robes and stepped into a pool of glistening water. As soon as she did so, the water darkened and the fish died. She smirked and washed her arms- the evil was so strong inside her that she could kill anything without even touching them. She enjoyed a swim and bathed naked in the water, dreaming about the powers she could drain from this place. It was not easy finding the foreigner and following him here after the humiliating defeat she had. She had to conjure up some serious evil and perform some dark rituals to find him. She put a tracking spell into the air and followed his every little footstep until she found the magical door that led her to him. She had never seen such a magical land, so pure and divine, the energy there was different, unlike the world she lived in. She realized soon that this was a world in another dimension or reality and the door she got in was a portal. She vowed to find out more of this untouched world, there must be people there, which meant she could find more blood for her ritualistic sacrifices!!
