CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO BIRMINGHAM, FRIDAY MARCH 9 1956 The transport café has the look of a run-down building that has long been past its best. The parking area at the front houses three large trucks, a van and a solitary black car. Pulling on to the gravel forecourt in the Riley, Brian thinks it looks a bit too seedy, really, and he doesn’t like the look of the grime-encrusted windows at the front, two of them open and belching out grey steam.
