Complications.

"Elias, can you give me some time to think about this?" She said in a haste. Bella rushed into the house without waiting for his response. Why was everything happening, all at once? This is making things a bit complicated for her. On one side is Chris and on the other, Elias. She was pretty sure she wanted both of them equally. Her parents might accept Elias, but with Chris she was unsure. Love was not going to cover everything for her. She picked Chris call and they spoke for long, into the night. The next week came and Bella was more than happy, about leaving her house to a different world. She had not spoken to Elias, since that night and she intended to keep it that way. Things with Chris was normal, everything was perfect as it is. The euphoria she had, of being free completely ran out, when she was told she had to live with her mother's sister. It felt like she had been moved from one prison to another. There was nothing she could do to counter, what her parents had already decided. Things were a bit easier for her in the new place, since she only had to do the dishes and be around whenever her aunt was cooking. Oh, not to mention water fetching. It was practically home in a different town. Bella quickly adjusted to how life was treating her. Her relationship with Chris, started going through a rough time. He kept finding fault in almost everything she does, while she feels like he just doesn't understand her. The distance issue added to all of this and in the end, Bella had to call it quits. She was not ready to stress emotionally, especially with school on the side now. All this time, she had not been in touch with Elias and for a while her life felt stable. No boyfriend, no stress, just school and household chores. Due to how fast paced the University was, Bella started lagging behind and had to start attending a tutorial to make her up to date with lectures and all. Her aunt used that as an opportunity to pick on her and report to her parents, that she goes to school almost everyday and does not help her with anything at home. On a Friday, after lectures were done for the day. Bella decided to stay back, before going back to that home filled with trouble. While sitting down in the garden, directly opposite the library. She started pulling a prank on strangers, inviting them for a fake event. They all laughed, whenever she got busted. "Hi there, I want to invite you to an event," she said to a law student, who had just passed. He paused, turned around and said "alright, when is it?" He sounded like a smooth talker, she got a bit dazed before responding. "I was only pulling your legs! I'm doing that out of boredom." "Really? Maybe, I should join you." Bella thought he was joking, but he sat down with her. They pulled the prank on a couple of people, until it was a bit late. He asked to exchange numbers and promised to call her. "My name is Jaden, I did not introduce myself earlier." "You can call me Bella." "This was fun, I hope we can do it again." He said, smiling in a weird way. "I am not so sure about that." She replied confidently. "You can never be too sure, what if fate has plans for us?" Jaden said. "I really want to know what game fate is up to this time." "Haha! You sound like you have a score to settle with fate, good luck on that." "Thanks Jay, can I call you that?" "Yes, you can." "See you some other time, bye." They both waved goodbye and went their separate ways. Apart from his likeable personality, Bella wasn't really attracted to Jaden. He was quite lacking in his physical features, but made up for it with his bubbly aura. Jaden, on the other hand, could not believe his luck; Bella was single! He felt it was worth taking a shot at her. Bella and Jaden became very close friends that knew almost everything about each other. It was just friendship for Bella, but something else was growing in Jaden's heart. He was falling deeper and deeper for this beautiful, smart girl, he called his friend. Soon, it was time for holidays and all students were asked to go home. Bella returned home and noticed that her parent's attitude shifted a bit when they were addressing her. It was almost magical, to add icing to that, Elias was equally around. Things got a bit serious between the two of them, just in that holiday period. The problem was that for Bella, she was attracted to him but still felt he was a friend and nothing more. Elias complained about their lack of communication, so when school was back in session, they were in touch regularly. Suddenly it dawn on Elias, that she never said yes to being his girlfriend. He quickly sent her a text message, asking her to be his girlfriend. Bella's phone vibrated, she got a text message. When she looked at the screen, Bella felt like being swallowed alive. There were two messages from Elias and Jaden, both of them read : "Will you be my girlfriend, Bella?”
