The Girl Who Can't Sleep

Chapter 1: The First Tale

" I think it will be beautiful if I add some green fish here, a bit of gold fish there, and Oh! Yes! I almost forgot to add koi fish and arowana fish to add some class!"

I'm now working on my new project which is to build a small pond. I focused all my concentration to what I am doing because if there's even a small lapse within my concentration, the pond that I painstakingly build will fade and I have no choice but to start all over again!

"Charan~ I am now all done!"

I look at my artwork and I must say I'm proud of myself because it turns out to be pretty good! After I stare at the pond I started to walk towards the big apple tree and sit underneath it's shade.

I close my eyes and relax. My mind was a bit rugged because of the tiredness. That small pond surely consumes my energy!

" Master!"

One of my servant Lila rushes in front of me. Lila is a little bunny with pastel pink color, partnered with her cute little tummy and soft fur which is by the way very adorable, I decided to keep her in and accompany me here in this world.

" What's the problem Lila?"

She looks hesitant at first but soon she decided to tell me what is going on.

" Uhmm Ma-master! The Bandits of the East are attacking the Fairies' Lair again!"

She said with nervousness while her little tail is swishing quickly.

" Hmmm, the Bandits of the East are just so-so! They are just fools who does not even have the ability to use their brains! They're just brute idiots who uses their big body to bully others!"

I said with conviction. I really hate people who uses their advantage to instigate fear into someone whose ability is below theirs.

" Anyway let's go! The fairies must be panicking now!"

I place my two fingers in my mouth and inhale deeply. I push the accumulated air outwards my lips and whistle loudly.

Soon I can hear loud thumps approaching us quickly.

" There you are Fenrir c'mon! It looks like we have to troubleshoot again!"

I said to my snow white wolf. I jump into his back and tell him our destination. Fenrir fastly got the exact location and he now runs like a lightning in the middle of the storm! You know I can still see the dust created by Fenrir's inhuman speed.

I can feel the cold breeze slapping my face because of the air pressure and my properly combed hair looks like a lump of steel wire right now! Soon I can see the site of the problem. In there the fairies are now flying frantically all over the place as if their lives are depending on it.

The Bandits of the East are also there with their scarred faces and sharp swords. They catch the fairies and imprison them in a small cage. You can see their wicked smile as they execute their plan.

" You dumbheads should stop this act! You're ruining the tranquility of this place!"

I said loudly. I let the wind particles deliver my message to those bandits who are very far from me. They turn their heads and look at the source of the sound, and a sour expression started to form on their faces.

" You again Amileigh huh? You're ruining our plan again! But you want to stop us? You sure are brave but you have to face death now! Say goodbye to this world!"

The leader of the bandit said. He strikes me with his sword horizontally, and I cannot do anything but to immediately jump back because I do not have any weapon to use.

"You sure are fast, but how long can you last?"

He said with insulting tone. He strikes me with his sword again and again. I bow my head to evade one of his attack but he faked it and strike towards my right. I hurriedly jump back but unfortunately his sword still reaches me and leave a small gash in my right cheek.

" Hahaha, is this really the one who sabotage our every operation? You guys cannot even defeat this little lamb? Look at her! She looks like a little kitten ready for us to butcher, hahaha!"

He said to his co-bandits with apathetic tone. Is he belittling my ability? Then I have no choice but to shut his dirty mouth with my power.

" Is this all that you've got? I'm not even exerting any effort and here you are! Already gasping for air."

I replied to his bullsh*ts. I close my eyes and let the wind caress my cheeks. I inhale and exhale deeply to stabilize my condition.

At the corner of my peripheral vision, I can see Fenrir being surrouded by five bandits, he also sustain some b****y wound all over his body. He gnash her fangs towards the bandits and all of them seems to be a bit afraid because of that.

I focused my attention to the current problem again. I know that Fenrir can defeat his enemies. He is strong I'm aware of that because I, myself created him.

Once my rugged breath calms down I imagine a long scythe. It slowly starts to form in my hand. It's length reaches from the ground towards above my head. You can see the sharpness of its blade because it reflects the light and brings out a chilly feel.

I notice the leader of the bandits abruptly stop all of his movements, like a shocked statue with his mouth left hanging. His shoulders are shivering, I don't know if its because of the cold weather or because of my aura that can give goosebumps to anyone.

" Say your last words, it will be the last time you can talk anyway,"

I said with a low tone. He seems to be afraid but I can see that he steeled his face and reinforces his wavering conviction.

"If there will be anyone who will die today, it will be you and not me!"

He said. He suddenly move! I can see that his movements are faster from before. He chant a mantra that I cannot understand and suddenly I noticed that his sword are having a reddish glow.

From that sword I can feel a scorching heat. It looks like he will use his strongest move right now!

Well, this man has his brain working anyway.

The leader of the Bandits of the East continue to run towards me. Our approximately 10-meter distance is rapidly being shortened. I can see that the air particles are wavering because of high temperature.

I prepare myself because I know, that sword can burn my skin.

"Die!"

He shouted. The Leader of the Bandits slashes his sword vertically to my right. I jump further to my left and evade his attack. I can feel my nerves tensing because of the heat.

I now then swings my scythe towards the right and blocked off his upcoming sword thrust. We continue to simultaneously give each other an attack, and a single slip from your attention can give you a horrible death.

Due to that, I do not wait a single moment. I hurriedly s***h my scythe towards his direction, he defended himself by raising his sword in front of his heart.

We are now caught in a stand off. We both know that each other are good and we both admit that our abilities were almost the same, but for the sake of the fairies I will fight them 'till they back off and I will make sure that the Bandits of the East will not make any wicked acts from today onwards.

"I admit that you are good, but remember I do not even exert 80 percent of my ability"

I smirked at him. We both pushes each other and creates a 5-meter distance between ourselves.

I can see the leader of the bandits concentrate because he does not even make any sound. He concentrate his energy towards the blade of his sword. The earlier reddish sword suddenly emitted a scorching flame. The man forces the flame to be compressed on one point at the end of its blade.

Woaaah! He can use this technique also!

At the end of his sword you can see a small fireball, it is as tiny as a piece of toy marble, but I do not underestimate this attack because I can see the effort of the man to build this last strike.

Suddenly, he slashes his sword to command the little fireball to come at me. The fireball moves slowly towards me, as if a weak blow from me can disintegrate this one.

When the fireball closes in I jump to my right but the next scene surprised my nerves.

The little fireball landed on my previous position so I only move 3 feet towards my left, but suddenly the fireball explode. Due to the explosion, my body was pushed back several meters and crushes with the trunk of a maple tree.

I vomitted blood because of so much force brought by the explosion. I endure the seering pain that's crushing my unwavering will.

I tried to stand up. My knees are trembling because of the weakness it feels.

Sh*t this really hurts! I promise if my condition is a bit better I will crush this man's every single bone!

I steeled my conviction and ignore the excruciating pain.

After that I decided to give one of my most powerful strike. I readied myself. I use my Ability to release a cold bluish aura in my scythe.

"Y-you are still alive!"

He said nervously but I ignored him, instead I focused my attention to this strike. I centered all of my energy towards the blade of my scythe, the dim glow in it slowly brightens.

I cannot hold on anymore!

I release the accumulated power in the blade. The energy in it created a bluish light that slashes towards my enemy.

"Aaaarghh!"

He tried to block my attack with his reddish sword, he endure the pain in it, but soon his big body collapsed and the bluish light approaches him, leaving a deep wound in his chest. The blood was continuously flowing from it.

The scene was a bit gory.

The man is now laying on the ground, bathing with his own blood. The warmth body is now freezing cold, I can see that the life essence in him are slowly dissipating.

I stare at his corpse for another second then I turn my back. From my view, I can see how Fenrir kill his enemy with its sharp fangs.

I started to walk towards Fenrir, but suddenly, a member of the Bandits of the East who survives, lunches an attack with his big halberd behind my blind spot.

Because of its sneak attack, I am left unprepared, and in that moment it seems like my body stops functioning. The man starts to thrust his sword to the direction of my stomach.

Because my body is weakened after my fight with the bandits' leader, I can only move my body within a few inches perimeter.

Gosh! I am not ready to die yet! I still have many things to do in this world!

However, before the man's halberd can wound me, a quick arrow pierces to the bandit's head and he falls into the ground.

I turned my head side to side because of confusion. You can see my eyebrows wrinkling because of many possibilities.

I overthinking right now!

I searched for the one who did it and saw a man with a black hoodie covering his face. He comes from the lush part of the Fairies' Lair which is covered by thick trees and now I can see him slowly walking towards our direction.

"Who are you?"

I said to the unfamiliar man.
