A breathy gasp escaped Summer’s lips as she peered out the window, directly at Grant’s nude form standing in front of the car.
Milo quickly climbed out of the driver’s seat, rushing to the trunk to retrieve a bag of clothing for Grant to cover up with. Summer has already been through so much with men..... I can imagine a nude Alpha snarling at her is not the greeting that she expected when she decided to join me tonight.
My body shifted and I was met with her fearful eyes. The deep brown was nearly black, still swollen from sobbing back at the Safe Haven, but right now, she looked terrified.
“He’s a good man. If you need time, just communicate with him. He will understand.”
She said nothing, still staring like a deer in the headlights at Grant.
“I’m not ready,” she whispered,
