My body felt so warm. So light. It felt as if I were lying on the softest of beds, wrapped in a heated blanket. I didn’t want to move as to not disturb this feeling. It was indescribably comforting. Moments ago, I was in excruciating pain. My lungs felt as if they had been lit on fire. My leg and side where the bullets entered my body throbbed and I had welcomed death over the pain. ‘Brielle sweetheart....it’s not your time.
