I sat with Whitney on a bench outside the grand hall, my arm around her shoulders as she poured her heart out to me. Tears streamed down her face as she confessed how lost and alone she felt after Liam ended their relationship.
"I've loved him for so long, Lyra," she said, her voice breaking. "I even transferred schools just to be with him. I thought he was my forever mate." She looked up at me, her eyes filled with despair. "What will my father say?"
