WHO IS ADRIAN VALDOSTA?

It's been a month since Naya started working at Valdosta Company, everything has been going smoothly at work and at home, but deep down, she knew she really wanted to reply to Dani's email, but she was too scared of the unknown. She thought to herself. What would I unlock if I ever reply to that email? Dani's aunt, Callisa, left home and never returned after Dani's death, so who could have reached out to her through Dani's account? Was there something she didn't know? Was there something she needed to know?

As she was lost in thoughts Alexa rushed to her.

“Girl, what's up, have you heard?”

Adrian Valdosta is finally back from his business trip to Spain. He will be here anytime soon, she said with so much joy.

Naya looked at her with confusion.

“Uhm, Alexa, who is Adrian Valdosta?”

She asked innocently

Alexa could not believe what Naya just asked her, she blinked twice to make sure she really heard Naya clearly.

Girl, are you trying to say you’ve been working in a Valdosta company yet you don't know Adrian? Are you for real?

Naya looked at her oblivious to who Adrian is.

Adrian Valdosta is the CEO’s son, the heir of the Valdosta establishments, and the only son of Jace Valdosta, the founder of Valdosta establishments.

I believe you don't know him because you have never seen him, after all you resumed when he was not around. Alexa replied casually.

Oh! Now it makes sense, so what does his arrival have to do with us?

Naya are you trying to say you have been in this company for a month yet you still don't know this environment well enough, that means you still have a long way to go,at this point you might as well stay under Miss Tiana Lourdes forever, it seems you are not tired of all her petty attitudes, huh?

For your information, a lot of staffs has been applying for the position of the young master’s secretary and anyone who is picked will no longer have anything to worry about,she paused letting out a long sigh, then continued, especially for us working under Tiana's department, I just can't wait to leave this department, she added.

Naya loved her job even though Tiana and Cynthia treated her like s**t, she still loved the fact that she was working in her dream company and the thought of the attractive salary made her more comfortable, silently she also wished to be transferred to another department, but it's better to work under Tiana than go back to her baby-sitting job, the thought of it alone made her blood pressure drop.

Cynthia rushed to where they sat.

Naya, Alexa, and Adrian Valdosta are here, she said excitedly. He's not alone; he also came with a foreign investor, she made her way to the lobby in a hurry. Alexa followed her immediately, while Naya sat back on her seat unbothered.

Naya had always believed that her life was more peaceful whenever she wasn't noticed, and she had been living with that mindset, believing it's better that way.

It's past lunch time, Naya wasn't feeling too well, the dull ache in her head refused to ease, before she realized she laid her head on her desk, eyes closing just for a second.

Naya.

The sudden shout snapped through the air.

She jerked upright in shock, her elbow knocking onto the coffee cup beside her, time seemed to slow down as the coffee cup tipped, the dark liquid spilling out across Tiana's long white kimono blazer, then splashing onto the floor with a hollow clatter.

The room fell silent.

Naya froze, breath caught in her throat as she stared at the spreading stains on Tiana's blazer, her heart pounding violently in her chest.

“Today, of all days,” Tiana gritted through her teeth.

Naya tried getting up to wipe Tiana's blazer, but before she could move, Tiana had already landed a hot deafening slap across her face.

Naya froze, her breath hitched. She blinked her eyes continuously trying to wrap her head around what just happened.

She opened her mouth to speak but she couldn't say anything.

Tears had already formed a pool in her eyes; she could feel the pain of the slap just by trying to say a word. She had never been this humiliated in her entire life.

Alexa wanted to come and pull her away, but knowing that stepping in, especially when it had to do with Tiana, was like digging her own grave, she held back while every other person in the room watched with a pleasant smile on their faces.

The silence stretched, thick and suffocating.

Tiana looked down on her blazer, feeling dirty and disappointed, she had dressed in one her most expensive outfits, just for Adrian Valdosta’s arrival, she had secretly crushed on him ever since she joined the company hoping that elegant dressing and poise would make Adrian Valdosta notice her, now this riff-raff from the street has ruined one of her rear chances, it was so visible that Tiana was very infuriated. She lifted her head and her expression was tightly controlled but dangerous.

She lifted her hand for the second time to slap Naya again, but her hand remained in the air. She turned angrily to see who it was, Adrian Valdosta.

Her heart sank into her stomach.

She couldn't believe that Adrian had seen her at her worst because of this riff-raff from the street. If only the ground could open at that moment, Tiana would have gladly buried herself.

What do you think you are doing?

Adrian asked authoritatively.

His voice was low, but held so much pressure

His eyes darkened

Tiana was too scared to meet his gaze; she looked away, trying to evade his gaze.

Adrian let's go.

Is this how you have been treating the junior staff under your care and supervision? He asked; this time, his voice was no longer low. He stared at Tiana long and hard before tossing her aside.

He steps forward.

Are you okay? He asked Naya.

Naya nodded quickly, mortified. “Yes. I mean no. I'm fine, I'm sorry.”

She was too ashamed to even lift her head up.

“Take fifteen minutes,” he said. " Get some water. "

Tiana hesitated, stepped back clearly.

She was the one who slapped Naya, yet she was the one feeling more humiliated.

Adrian glanced at her once before walking away.
