Ellie I was in utter shock. Now what was up with him? He didn’t even tell me what he needed.   His stare sent me chills on my spine. It was unusual; yet it was a new feeling. If I were not mistaken, his eyes showed desire. Desire? Really now Ellie? Wake up! I thought about his stare again as I sat here in my swivel chair. Parker is really a bossy person, and a little arrogant when he’s around the office. Employees from different departments would be frightened if he’s around. Linda, Parker’s grandmother, said he’s kind, but just very reserved and intimidating, but I refuse to believe otherwise. Imagine, he told me to call the maintenance team just to ask help in plugging a simple printer cord! It’s really unnecessary. But, his stare. It was so… so different. It made me nervous. Hold up Ellie… Parker is making you nervous? I shrugged to the idea of it. Shut up Ellie. Forget it. I shouldn’t be feeling this. I should act professional. After all, I’m only here for the job and the pay, nothing more. And I love my new job. I am Parker Coleman’s executive assistant. Working in Coleman Inc. has been a dream true to me. I remember when I was little, I would always tell my mom that I will work here. I used to dream small before, and I honestly still can’t believe I’m working for this company as an executive assistant. However, being Parker’s secretary is no joke. There are days that Parker is so dark and dull, and I find it hard to approach him. Other than handling his schedule, I also need to know how to handle news for him. Although I haven’t seen him being mad, I have heard stories. And based on those stories, I’d rather be careful. I am very determined to work here. Aside from this being a dream come true, I owe the Colemans bigtime, Linda, Parker’s grandmother, helped us so much, especially when Mom died. Mom used to work as her hand maid since Mom had me, and Linda was very kind towards her. She treated us as if we were her own family, and I’m very thankful for her. Linda was also the one who got me this job. The Colemans are also the owners of East University. My sister, Kendra, is a scholar there. Linda was kind enough to give Kendra a scholarship. She offered me one too, however, I need to stop school to take care of my mom before she passed away and work for me and Kendra. At an early age, I was given a responsibility that a normal 16-year old could not even handle. It was that time when we discovered my mom. My dad abandoned us after discovering so. Kendra is now graduating in college. all my hard work was paid off, and everything seems to be what prayed for. Even though I wasn’t able to become a lawyer like I always wanted t since I was a kid, at least I get to work here in this huge company. We’re okay now. Stable and happy. I just need to focus and do my job to keep it. That means, no distractions allowed. After all, romantic connections are strictly prohibited in this office. Parker himself made it clear. Parker. I admire Parker as a professional. He runs the company very well. Although he’s not that friendly nor approachable looking, I admire how he does business. Sometimes I feel like I annoy him because I talk a lot. But he doesn’t seem to mind it. He’s very focused with work. I checked the hourglass that was hanging outside his office door. It was turned upside down, which meant he’s out of the office. I checked his schedule, but there was no appointment listed at this hour. He probably planned to go out and eat earlier. But why did he go back inside if he planned to go out? Maybe he’s got work to do. Or maybe he changed his mind. Or maybe he got nervous seeing me. No… he can’t be. Stop thinking about that Ellie. He’s your boss. Nothing more. I sighed and sat properly. I took the phone and dialed food delivery. I bet Parker is hungry now since he didn’t go out for lunch. I would admit, Parker is good-looking. Not to mention, he’s hot. I find him attractive whenever he’s in his corporate attire—which is the only attire that I see him wearing around since I only see him in the office. He’s got that intimidating and serious attitude that matches the way he dresses and acts. And I find it really attracting. But I can only keep those thoughts to myself. Because me and Parker? Never gonna happen. When I already placed my order, I got a glimpse of myself in my desk mirror and I saw how haggard I look. I took my lipstick out of my bag and retouched my makeup. Since I am Parker’s executive assistant, and I face a lot of professionals and employees, I need to look my best whenever I’m at work. Although I’m not used to wearing makeup, I forced myself to put some and make it as a part of my office attire. When my order arrived I immediately went in front of Parker’s office. I pushed the buzzer and he then gave a signal for me to come in. When I entered his office, I could see his arched brows and confused face looking at me. “I ordered food for your lunch. I assumed you haven’t eaten anything since after the meeting you never went out your office to eat,” I said. I placed the food on his desk. “Thanks,” he said. “No problem, Sir,” I smiled. I then walked to the door. I felt happy doing that for him. After all, he’s my boss. I should not only handle his appointments but also look after him while he’s at work. Before I could reach the door, I heard him cuss under his breath. I was about to chuckle, but I bit my lip so that he can’t hear me. I don’t know why, but it surely made my day.
