A dream come true (Anna & Derek's Story)

Chapter 3

Times fly so quickly, I had already forgotten we had only a few hours to prepare for the party Tyler was throwing by 6 pm.

I didn't bother informing my parents cause I knew they were all wrapped up with a business deal they discussed with us earlier.

So I left a note for them on the kitchen counter. I wrote:

"I went out with Dorathy and Vivian. I'll be back home in some hours. I'll give you a call soon

Anna."

Dorathy on the other hand went to her friends' house to study together.

So I gathered my things and headed to Vivian's house to get ready. We all went shopping the day before and I let Vivian pick an outfit for me cause she has a better fashion sense than me.

So I took a cab there and met my two besties getting dressed in Vivian's room. I asked about her parents, she said they both went on a business trip. Dylan on the other hand went out with some friends.

So I started dressing up and put on the dress Vivian picked for me. It's a nude silver lace dress that hugs all my curves, it wasn't too revealing and had a slit that stops at my mid-thigh. I put on silver nude heels that match my dress and let my shoulder-length hair down with its natural curls.

I gasped when I looked at myself in the mirror, I looked-

" Damn! girl you look hot " Vivian commented while looking at my outfit.

"The dress brings out your eyes, I mean you look so beautiful!" Debby squealed excitedly as she came to hug me.

" Thanks, I gotta say I love this dress," I said admiring my dress. " Besides, I'm not the only one looking good," I said admiring their dresses. Debby blushed at my compliment.

"Why thank you" Vivian cheered admiring herself.

Debby looked cute with her blue floral dress that complements her eyes, she straightened her shoulder-length black hair and put on some black nude heels.

Vivian on the other hand looked ravishing in her sleeveless red dress that hugged her curves with a long slit that stops above her mid-thighs. She let her blond her down which stopped at her back and put on gold heels.

We all did light makeup as I suggested and took another look at ourselves before we left.

We called a cab and gave him the address of the party. It was a 15 minutes drive from Vivian's house. We paid the driver and step out of the car making a good entrance.

"It's time to part-ay" Vivian cheered. As we made our way into the house.

I gotta say the house was impressive and large, I wasn't that surprised when I realized whose house it was, Tyler's parents are very wealthy which explains why he's so popular and acts the way he is.

We got people's attention when we got in and were welcomed in by non-other than Tyler himself.

I wouldn't say I have a grudge against him, I just don't like the way he acts and the fact that he always gets what he wants, he has good looks, money, fame, and lots of girls at his disposal.

" Hey, if it isn't the nerds!" Tyler said snapping me out of my thoughts. He looked at the three of us with a surprised expression. 'in your face, I said in my mind. "Wow! You three have outdone yourselves" he said eyeing me.

" Thanks" we chorused walking away from him and heading onto the dance floor where the party was.

I felt his hot gaze on my back while I was dancing with my besties, that explains why he has been eyeing my dress since we got here. I sneaked a glance at where he was and saw two girls throwing themselves at him. 'have some dignity girls!'. His gaze was still on me.

I ignored that and went to have a drink. We all decided to go our separate ways and get to meet other people. I texted Debby and Vivian in our group chat and told them we should meet up outside by 9 pm, and they replied in agreement.

" How can I help you," the guy at the counter said flashing me his brightest smile. He looked a little bit older than me about 2 years. He had striking green eyes and dirty blond hair. I wondered what's a good-looking guy like him doing serving drinks.

Like he was reading my thoughts he said, " I'm just helping Tyler, my cousin. Since he couldn't find a bartender on time".

" Ohhh!" I exclaimed smiling, noticing the resemblance between them, they both had blond hair, the difference was that Tyler has blue eyes and isn't as muscular as the guy in front of me. " I would like ice tea" I replied sitting on a stool in front of the counter.

" Ice tea for the beautiful lady" he announced not taking his gaze off me. My cheeks flushed a little at what he said, I looked away not wanting him to see me blush at his little comment. I spotted Vivian from a distance she was dancing with a guy I'd never seen before, looks like she was making progress. I couldn't see Debby maybe she was outside or something.

" Here's your drink," someone behind me said bringing my attention to him. " I'm Derek by the way," he said winking at me.

I collected the drink and said "My name's Anna" I said taking a sip of my drink.

" Nice to meet you, Anna," he said cooly bringing his hand out for me to shake. I hesitated before taking his hand, I felt a spark like jolts of electricity passing through our hands at that single contact. I withdrew my hand from him and looked at his surprised expression, it's like he felt it too.

I took another sip of my drink to calm myself from the shock I just faced and looked at him through the glass. He came back to reality from his thoughts when I dropped my empty cup on the counter and was about to leave.

I muttered a "thank you" and said " it was nice meeting you, Derek"

He looked reluctant at a point like he was contemplating whether to ask me something or not, so I waited for him to hear what he wanted to say.

" Hmmm!-" he started " can I have your number- so I can get to know you better" he looked so nervous and I held back a laugh not wanting to embarrass him cause he looked so cute when he was nervous.

" Sure," I said flashing him a smile. I wrote my number down on the piece of paper he handed me and gave him. He smiled back happily and said he'll give me a call.

I looked at the time it was past nine. I told him bye and headed up to the point where Debby and Vivian were waiting for me.

"Where were you girl, I was about to call you," Vivian asked.

" No questions now, we have to head home. We'll talk about everything later" I responded.

Debby on the other hand called a cab and we went to Vivian's house since it was getting late.

I texted Dorathy that I wouldn't be home till tomorrow and that I was at Vivian's house.

She replied saying Mom & dad went on a trip and would be coming back in the next two days. She said she was staying at our Aunt's place for the meanwhile.

I was relieved as we'll be headed to Vivian's house for the night.

What a day!
