Lost in the sorrow that I had brought on myself, I didn’t realize that we were still sitting at the stop sign, until Chance reached his hand, over to my face, wiping the single tear that fell from the corner of my eye with his thumb.
“Raven, why are you crying? I told you it doesn’t change things between us. I guess from where you were sitting, it could have looked suspicious. Plus, the two of us need to really work on our communication. If I had just told you why we were stopping, then you wouldn’t have assumed the worst of me.
