Raven’s POV
“What offer?” Mazie asked with a suspicious look on her face, but I knew that I couldn’t say a word to her about what Mrs. Jacobs just offered me, because Mazie would try and talk me out of leaving, if I decided to take Mrs. Jacobs up on her offer.
“It’s nothing. It’s just about school and my academics.” I told Mazie, being able to keep a straight face, because I wasn’t completely lying to her, but Mazie’s head turned to watch Mrs. Jacobs, disappearing from our sight, leading me to believe she wasn’t buying it.
“I trust that woman just about as much as I trust her daughter, and that isn’t saying much.” Mazie says under her breath, making me now question Mrs. Jacobs' true intentions, with the mentioning of Jessica, gave me something else to think about when considering her
