Chance’s POV
I was just getting ready to take Raven home, when Cash came flying up our lane in his truck with Mazie in the passenger seat. He barely put the truck in park before he jumped out, racing towards us. By the look on his face, I knew that he had found something, but I never imagined that it would have been Josie’s body in the cemetery.
As Cash and I discussed the details of what they had found, Raven moved to Mazie, comforting her, as it was clear that Mazie was in a state of shock from what they had discovered.
After hearing enough from Cash, knowing what needed to be done, I pulled Raven to the side and said to her, “Mazie’s parents are out of town on business. I don’t think that she should be alone.”
“No, I agree. She can stay with me as long as she needs to.”
