I walk out of the shower and find Roseline quiet on the bed. She's crying, her hands shaking.
"What have you done?" she asks when she sees that I'm standing in front of her.
I don't have to pretend not to know anything. From the look of things, the news about Josh's death has already reached her.
"I killed him," I say and she looks at me, her face terrible what with the tears and snot.
I sit down next to her and wrap my arm around her shoulder but she brushes it off.
"Why did you do it?"
"To avenge my father's death," I say, fixing my gaze on the floor. "Him humiliating you was the go-ahead I needed."
"Are you serious right now?" She's yelling and giving me a scornful glance. "You could have just maimed him or something...not killing him."
