ROSELINE Mateo leaves the room and I begin readying myself for my next performance. The show is announced and I'm about to exit the room when Mateo walks back in, grabbing my hand and walking me out of the club. He walks me straight to his car and gestures for me to get in. "We're just from talking about this!" he says sliding into the driver's seat and starting the car. "People are waiting Mateo." "We talked about this, you need to quit being a stripper." "Fine but at least let me get my money bag." "f**k it! I'll give you double the amount you made. Just please, put an end to this job. I'll talk to David tomorrow, maybe he'll find someone to replace you." He sounds desperate, like me working as a stripper will seriously besmirch his name. Like his whole life depends on me quitting
