I Found Love
Episode 3
By Charles N Okere
Amarachi’s Side of the Story
My obsession with material wealth and a luxurious lifestyle cost me dearly. It led me to break the heart of my childhood sweetheart, my first love, Chibuike. We had planned to marry right after university, but I graduated before him and landed a well-paying job in Abuja after my NYSC.
There, I was captivated by the opulent lives of influential women. Their glamour and power ignited a burning desire in me to be like them, to rub shoulders with Nigeria’s elite. Curiosity drove me to approach one of these women to uncover the secrets behind their lavish lifestyles. What she revealed shocked me—sordid affairs with senators, ministers, governors, and wealthy men. At first, I was repulsed. “No, not me,” I told myself. “I could never betray Chibuike like that. I’ll be content
But greed clouded my judgment like a thick mist. Over time, I succumbed. I began warming the beds of politicians and affluent men, all while hiding it from my sweetheart, Bose. Then I met the vice president’s son. He showered me with money, and in return, I gave him my body.
Three months later, he proposed—or so I thought. That scoundrel dumped me for a billionaire’s daughter, leaving me shattered.
Since then, I’ve drifted through seven failed relationships, each crumbling after a few months. It felt like karma punishing me for betraying Chibuike. Eventually, I married a soldier, the son of a five-star army general who later became Chief of Army Staff. But I didn’t love him. I married him out of pressure and frustration. He’s kind and caring to me and our twins, but two years ago, after I gave birth, a tragic accident left him impotent.
Regret consumes me. I long to see Chibuike again, to beg for his forgiveness for what I did all those years ago. I searched for him tirelessly but found nothing, so I gave up. Yet, I miss him every day.
Today, seeing him again was like a thunderbolt. Memories of our love flooded back, but jealousy gripped me when I learned he’s engaged to my sister-in-law, Jane. It sounds irrational, but I want him back. I don’t care about the consequences—I won’t let Jane take Chibuike from me. He’s mine.

Chibuike’s Side Continues
After Amarachi left the room, Jane shoved me onto the bed, her eyes flashing with irritation. “Why did you kiss me like that?” she demanded.
,
I shrugged, trying to sound casual. “I was just making it look real. That’s why I kissed you so passionately.”
She sighed, her expression softening but firm. “Don’t let it go to your head, Chibuike. We’re actors in this charade—nothing more. Don’t start feeling something that isn’t there.”
I nodded, and she walked out, leaving me alone.
I lay back on the bed, reaching for my phone on the side table to make a call. Suddenly, the door creaked open. Amarachi stormed in, her eyes wild with intent. Before I could react, she climbed onto the bed and pressed herself against me, her lips crashing into mine.
I pushed her away, stunned. “Amarachi, stop!”
But she was relentless, her hands fumbling toward my trousers with a hunger in her eyes like a lioness stalking prey. I struggled to hold her back, but she only pressed harder. As we wrestled on Jane’s bed, I heard Jane’s voice echoing from the hallway, growing closer.
I expected Amarachi to snap out of it and leap off the bed. Instead, she ripped off her top, revealing she wore nothing underneath.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” I hissed, my voice low as the door handle turned.
The door began to open slowly…
