Window to the Outside

993 Words
I am completely frozen, I have dealt with many things as a bartender but nothing like that. Seth walks to the door, took one more glance at me, smiles and shuts the door so calmly. I can hear the door lock. 'Great so I am locked in. At least I will know when someone unlocks it.' The tears finally stopped falling and I decided to get up and walk the room. There were only two doors connecting to this room, one to a walk in closet that was empty. The other to a huge bathroom with a giant Victorian bathtub, shower with clear doors, a long mirror and, of course, a sink. It is honestly beautiful. While admiring the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and almost collapsed. I look like s**t. The left side of my face was really bruised. Dam Seth, definitely a guy to stay away from. Thinking about everything that has happened, there has got to be a way to find help. Nobody reacted when I yelled and screamed for someone to help so I can assume this is normal for them. But I am not some normal girl off the street and I refuse to break so easily from intimidation. I gotta figure out what's really going on. With this new mission in mind, I made my way to the huge windows in the bedroom. From here you get a pretty good glimpse of parts of the town. Jiggling the lock a little, the glass swung open so I can see how far off the ground I really am. Definitely too high up to jump down, but I am close to the roof. And the trees close to the house are pretty high. I hopped out the window and started to scale the roof. One foot in front of the other, I crouched, staying as low as I can. It was dark now so I doubt anyone could really see me. Looking out, several houses had bomb fires going. Lots drinking and hollering. Looking around more, there were plenty of windows I could see into, including some of the neighbors. Most of the windows attached to this huge mansion are locked and attached to more bedrooms. Although, I did find two windows that looked like they belonged to someone's office. Once I became more familiar with the building just by scaling the roof, I decided I couldn't escape right now. There were too many people just walking around, most were intoxicated which is never a good sign. I made my way back to the window I came out of. Nearly sliding off the roof twice, I finally make it back inside. Luckily, no one came to see if I am still here, so I have some type of advantage now that I did not have before. It felt like another hour went by before I finally heard the door knob to the bedroom jiggle. I honestly did not want company nor did I want it to be Seth. He obviously can't control himself, and no matter what straight face I keep, he sees my fear. I just gotta stay strong and be ready for anything. I don't really have any other plan except to allow them to think I can be trusted or that I will comply and sneak out and escape the second I can. The door began to open slowly. 'Please don't be Seth, please don't be Seth, please don't be Seth.' I looked up and it wasn't Seth, thank goodness, but it was Gabriel. Great. “Hey Sweet Cheeks, how ya doin'?” “Gabriel, not so great. Especially now that you are here.” “Oh come on Sam, we're friends, call me Gabe.” “We are definitely not friends. I have friends, and I'm sure they will be looking for me. So don't get too attached.” “Well I brought you McDonald's so yes we are friends, as well as bathroom supplies and a better change of clothes. You still smell like me, so if you shower and put my clothes on, there is a reason for you to smell like me.” He smiled as if he was some brilliant mathematician that figured out a way around his boss. I also don't think it is a good idea to take anything from him but that food smells so good, I almost can't help but put on puppy dog eyes. “Fine. But only for the food. And you have to sit down and explain what the hell I am about to get into, and what I am doing here.” “Sounds good to me. Here's your food.” I reached from on top of the bed and snatched the bag out of his hand, and immediately shrunk back to the other side of the bed. Gabe sits down on the bed and I just lean back looking at him disapprovingly. I don't like him near me almost as much as I don't like Seth. I nod my head over to the chair by the vanity against the wall. He looks at me, rolls his eyes and hops up, taking a seat by the vanity. “Now, I am assuming you are all werewolves?” I opened my bag of food to find a water bottle, two cheeseburgers and a large container of fries. I seriously could cry, my mouth is watering. As I started taking bites, Gabe smiled, noticing that I was satisfied and started to explain. “Yeah, Seth mentioned he may have messed up and shifted in front of you. He wasn't punished since you were going to find out sooner or later. I'm just surprised he didn't get a bite out of you first, it's hard to stay under control when you curl up in a position like that. But Jake would've killed him. Smart guy.” “Who is Jake?”
