POV Scarlett
After the so-called date with Enzo, he got me thinking about why a guy like him would want to go out with a girl like me. He has so much, and I am just getting started, plus with all the crazy s**t that has been happening lately, I’m just not sure how to deal with it all. I wish my mother was still alive to give me advice on all of this. It would make my life so much easier if she was still here. Enzo is hot and smart, but there just seems to be something off about him. I can’t put my figure on it. Oh, well, I have too much going on with my life to worry about him and if we will go out again.
My test is coming up in a few days and I still need to make sure I am good with that. I need to figure out where all those things came from and why my teacher needed to talk and then came up missing. I really don’t understand why things keep happening.
Then she heard the girls coming through the door from their night out. She walked out to greet them, and they screamed when they see her. They didn’t think she was still awake, so she scared them without meaning too. She laughed her head off when she realized what she had done. She asked them how their night asked if they met anyone while they were out.
Brooklyn spoke up “Leah met a guy tonight. He looked like that bartender at that club your man owns.” she laughed as she said that.
“Brooklyn you have a big mouth and I wanted to tell her myself. Scarlett, have been there he was so out and funny. I think you would have liked him for me, and I would have been able to be myself.” Leah said with a big smile on her face.
“It sounds that you guys had lots of fun, but don’t worry I didn’t stay home as I planned. I ended up going out and had a fantastic time.” Scarlett let her friends know
“Who did you go out with?” Both girls asked her at the same time.
“Do you remember the guy from the bar?” They both shook their head yes, so Scarlett continued. “Well, he ended up showing up for that date and I went. Turns out he’s not all that bad.” She laughed at herself as she told the girls about her date with Enzo.
The girls couldn’t believe she went out and let someone else in, even if it was for one night. They didn’t think it would ever happen after her mother died. They were so happy for her. After they all shared the stories of their nights out, they all got up and went to bed. When morning came, there was a note stuck to the door. Scarlett found the note on her way out to get breakfast for everyone.
The note said this: Don’t trust him; he is not who he seems to be. Stay away from Enzo or you will get hurt. There is more going on than you know. Stay alert and watch your back. There are more involved than just him and you’re in danger, just like your mother was. I will be in touch soon.
Scarlett couldn’t get over what the note said and didn’t know who would have written it. She looked around when she got to her car. She has seen no one around but now she wasn’t so sure. Scarlett went to the police to talk with detective Walsh. He wasn’t in at the time when she talked to him but left him a message to call her when he gets in. She went back out to her car and left to go get breakfast for her friends and tell them what had happened.
When she got back the girls were waiting for her in the Livingroom. They looked like they were wondering what took her so long to get their food.
“Damn Scarlett, where have you been? I didn’t think you would get here with the food. I’m starving.” Brooklyn was being overly dramatic while she talked to Scarlett.
“Yeah Scarlett, we are wasting away here while you took your time in bring back the food.” Leah chimed in.
“Oh yes, can’t have you two just starving and wasting away on my account. I need to make sure you two can eat on time no matter what happened on the way out.” Scarlett was telling them in a very sarcastic tone.
“What do you mean something happened to you on your way out,” Leah asked her while stuffing her face.
“I mean that on my way out I got this note, and I tried to go to the police, but the detective was not in, so I had to leave him a message to call me. Plus, I have had this feeling I was being watched the whole time I was out today.” Scarlett explained in the nerviest way.
“What did the note say? Did you see anyone following you today?” Brooklyn fired off questions.
“Slow down and let me an answer before you fire off another question. Here is the note and you guys can read it for yourselves. No, I noticed no one following me.” Scarlett responded to Brooklyn’s questions.
“I guess I really want to know is, why you?” Leah asked Scarlett
“Leah I am not sure why me. I have been asking myself that same question for a while now. I think maybe my mom’s stuff may hold answers. That’s what I am hoping, anyway.” Scarlett said with a worried look on her face.
“We are with you to the end Scarlett you know that. We will do what we can to help you with all of this,” Brooklyn said with a hug to Scarlett.
“Enough of this right now let’s go do something right now. Then this weekend we can go to the storage unit to look through mom’s stuff. Then Monday we take our last test before we graduate.” Scarlett is admitted about all of this.
The girls each went to their separate rooms to get ready to go do something fun to let off steam. None knew what to do just yet, but they would figure it out. The girls ended up at the mall to do a little shopping for graduation. Just as they were walking into a*****e this tall and dark looking man bumps into Brooklyn and just keeps walking.
“Dude you could have at least said accuse me or something. You didn’t have to be so rude.” Brooklyn yelled
The guy just kept walking and didn’t even look back at her. Brooklyn walks into the store with her friends and tries to forget what just happens.
“That was rude of that guy,” Leah said
“Yeah, he didn’t even look back or nothing.” Scarlett comment
“Don’t remind me. I’m trying to forget that even happened.” Brooklyn commented
They all laughed and looked at the clothing. They went on to the next store to continue their fun. Just as they were walking into the next store, Scarlett thought she saw that guy that bump into Brooklyn watching them from across the walkway. When she looked back over there she didn’t see him, so she thought she was seeing things. She caught up with her friends and when she did; she found that Leah was trying on a dress and Brooklyn was telling her to hurry.
“Where were you?” Brooklyn asked Scarlett
“Sorry I thought I saw someone,” Scarlett replied
Leah walked out and put the dress back on the rack. Then they headed out to the parking lot to go to the car. When they arrived at the car, they found that they had a flat tire. Just when they were about to call someone for help. Enzo and his two right-hand men walked up to them.
“It looks like you ladies could use help,” Enzo remarked
All three of the girls turned around fast, but only Scarlett had a smile on her face at first. Until the other guys came into view.
“Yes, we have a flat tire and we were just heading to go get lunch,” Scarlett replied
“Well, let us help you and then we can join you lovely ladies for lunch,” Enzo said as he walked right up to Scarlett with a big smile on his face.
Scarlett’s face turned red, and the girls laughed in the background. Rocco and Luka got to work on fixing the tire and they did it in no time. Then they all headed to a nice restaurant for lunch. The restaurant was one that the guys go to a lot; they someone seated them right away. They shocked all three of the girls at how fast someone seated them and drinks were in front.
“How did we get seated and drinks so fast?” Brooklyn spoke up
“We come here a lot and got to know everyone, plus we are big tippers,” Rocco replied to Brooklyn with somewhat of a smile.
“Ok, Mr. Big Tipper. Tell me what you do,” Brooklyn remarked back at him with a look that said I dare you to get smart with me.
“Enzo thank you for helping us. That was kind of you to do that.” Scarlett spoke to him in a low voice.
“Your welcome, and it was nothing. We are in the right place at the right time.” Enzo said in his normal voice but bent down to brush a small kiss onto her cheek.
Scarlett blushed and then looked over at her two friends and seen that they were all in conversations with the other two gentlemen. She couldn’t believe her eyes they all were getting along so well. Especially Brooklyn. Then the waiter shows up to ask them what they would like. Enzo orders for him and Scarlett, Luka orders for him and Leah, and then Rocco orders Brooklyn and himself. Brooklyn gives him a look he laughs off. After lunch, they each say they’re and go their separate ways, so the girls though.
