Three devils

Rio. I knew it was her watching us last night. I already perceived her scent even before she tilted against the door, watching Emma f**k me. We both got married after the messy one-night stand I had with her during the period I was nursing my broken heart from Veil's disappearance from the pack. I was totally wounded, and the same was my lycan. It appeared Veil was our anchor to sanity then. I resorted to bottles to heal my bleeding soul. Well, it takes more than just three bottles of alcohol to get a lycan drunk. An alpha Lycan at that, but I don't know how it happened, and I lost grip of my surroundings. The next thing I knew was waking up in a strange bed with Emma resting beside me, naked. I was horrified, doubted I even slept with her, but the video from the camera footage proved her right. We indeed f****d, and it was pretty intense. A few months after that encounter, Emma turned out to be pregnant. The news about it spread like wildfire in the pack, stirring everyone's expectations for us to be married. Alpha Moon was still alive as of then, and he convinced me to marry Emma for two reasons: the pack laws forbid having children outside of wedlock. Secondly, so that I'll act as the stand-in alpha of the pack until we find a solution for Quin. I heeded to his instructions, and Emma and I wedded. Ever since then, I've never felt a spark for her. It's always Veil that consumes my thoughts, even when I'm f*****g my wife. I don't know if she's too dumb to realize that I don't feel anything for her or if she just decides to ignore it and go with the flow. She practically pounced on me upon my return from work, humping me like a dog. I just lay beneath her, feeling numb, detached, while her p***y bounced relentlessly on my c**k. I only imagined it was Veil on top of me. I can't seem to forget her night with Quin. I was expecting to see them battling with each other, but what I saw left me speechless and jealous. Quinn cradled Veil to his chest, taking her into his inner chamber where he laid her down on his supposed bed. I watched him pace around her like he was protecting what was his, and it made my beast thrash inside me in anger. I couldn't bear watching the scene, seeing my stepbrother marking his territory with my woman. My little moon. My Veil. No one is supposed to do that. No one has the right, especially not Quin, who bullied her to the ends of the earth, made her life a living hell in Halesbridge Academy. I'm the only one who should stake my claim on her. The only one she needs. I'm her safe place. No one else. I wait there, swimming in wrath like a caveman, until Veil falls asleep. That's when I moved into the cell. Quin's beast challenged me, circling around me and snarling. I shifted into my beast form too, stoking the flames as we engaged in pheromone battle. He pumped his hard, hoping to bring me to my knees, but my beast wasn't having it. I didn't cower. I pumped my own pheromones and alpha will, threatening to suffocate him with it. Of course, it hardly affected him. We watched each other, waiting to see who'd strike first. I didn't bloody care that he was feral. I was ready to do whatever it takes to bring Veil with me. Quin and I got along back in the day. The day my mother got married to Alpha Moon, right after losing my biological father, Quin and I clicked. We went to parties together, fought together, and played with random girls together. It was the good old days. However, at that moment, I didn't give a f**k about the past. I just wanted Veil. Just as we were about to fight physically, Veil's whimpers echoed through the air, interrupting us. I hurried to her, checking her out. She's dreaming, looking restless like she's in pain. Her dress tattered. I didn't wait, I didn't think twice about my actions, I just turned into a half-shift and carried her. I was careful not to wake her. As we exited the cellar, Quin's angry growl reverberated through the air. Regardless, I didn't stop. I stumbled on Hunter in the woods, sitting on his black Harley bike, making out with Ava. He noticed us walking by with Veil in my arms, but barely spared us a glance. Ava looked shocked at Veil as if confirming the news about her return. I walked past them, heading to the pack house and to her room. I laid her quietly on the bed while Veil twitched terribly, calling Ryder's name like a prayer with her face twisted in fear and something else...pain. It took effort for me to leave that night, but I've never stopped thinking about her restless state. Why did she look scared of Ryder? Pudim hasn't given me the results of his investigation, and I can't wait to get my hands on them, so I can get to the root of this. Well, work got me carried away since then, but I'm glad to be here again, looking into her beautiful eyes. Earlier, I was listening to her soft breath as she slept just like I used to. "You're not talking?" I ask, narrowing my eyes at her. She flinches, fiddling with her fingers as she lowers her head, face flushed. "Why were you watching me f**k my wife, sister?" Her response comes, raspy, but I already know she isn't telling the truth. "I wasn't sneaking in on you. I was only..." "Lies!" I bark, rising to my feet. Her breath catches as she cranes her neck to stare up at me. With my hands in my pockets, I inform her. "Are you aware my lycan is a lie detector?" Her eyes go wide at the revelation. That's right. We have unique abilities, we, the Three Devils. I'm a lie detector; I can tell whenever someone is lying. Quin is a past seer. He sees things that someone did in the past whenever he touches the person. Hunter is a pain absolver. He draws people's pain away from them into his body through intimacy and siphoning. That's what makes us known as the Three Devils. We possess unique abilities that no one else in the pack possesses. Others are just wolves, nothing special. I guess that's the same thing with Veil. She doesn't have any special ability. I stride toward her, my shoes clacking over the floor. "So, think twice before lying to me, sister." I peer down at her. "Tell me why you were snooping on us before I count to three. One..." I start counting, the rapid beats of her heart echoing in my ears. Before I can count to three, Veil rasps. "Because I wanted to be aroused!" Interesting! I gape at her as her face turns a sea of colors. "What?" I gasp, meeting her soft, wary gaze. TBC
