I was surprised to see Mary's call. I even remained stiff as I stared at the screen of my phone. I was about to reach Angus to come and help me to receive the call, when he suddenly rushed to me and snatched the phone from my hands and received it.
Whenever a red symbol appeared on the top of the screen, it meant the call needed urgent attention. I wondered what might have happened, so I wasn't able to receive it.
“Sweet heart…” I said.
“Shh!” Angus stopped me, motioning me to keep mute. He continued, “Mary, what's going wrong?”
“Alpha Angus.” Mary replied, her voice coming out with unstopping breaths. “I just heard that Alpha Thane is trying to sign a peace treaty with your pack.”
“Oh, really?” Angus retorted. “Is that why you signified urgency on your call?”
