CHAPTER TWENTY

1106 Words

Thirty minutes after 4pm, as the evening closed, inviting the night, we reached Arleta. As usual, the land was seriously overwhelmed with strange serenity and shrouded in darkness, nearly blinding us. Before we were permitted to move around the environment, some guards stopped us, throwing several questions at us. “Wait!” The guard ordered, adjusting his position to my right. “Hope you people have a pack you belong to here in Arleta?” “I don't understand this.” Mary questioned the man, twisting her hands in uncertainty. “Has Arleta been modernised?” “Err…” Angus complemented, his voice lowered anyways. “Do we need all these processes before we enter this dark and dangerous land?” “Did you just call it dangerous?” The guard shot back, deliberately supporting his jaws with his hands.
