Chapter 2

AKIRA'S POV

Thane knelt beside me, gently placing his hand on my head. "So sorry, my love, but I will spare you for old times' sake," he said, his tone mocking. He was a beast, an animal. "But there is a little punishment for you." At that moment, I wanted to die; this was already more punishment than I could bear. My entire pack perished in a single day. My parents burned alive. My brother stabbed repeatedly. It was too much.

Thane leaned in close and whispered, "I will not reject you as my mate, and you cannot reject me. Instead, you will spend the rest of your life mated to the man who destroyed everything you once held dear.”

Get this out of my sight!" Princess Kaida yelled at the maids, throwing her wine cup with such force that it hit me hard in the face, forcing me to my knees in pain. "The Alphas are coming today, so everything must be perfect! We cannot afford any mistakes!" She shouted, clearly angry by the maids' incompetence. I touched my head and noticed a small cut from the cup she had thrown. Ignoring the pain, I quickly knelt to wipe the wine stain from the floor while the princess continued to scrutinize her reflection in the mirror, assisted by the maids.

Her eyes caught mine as she rolled her eyes, then asked, "What is this animal doing here?" Though she asked, I remained silent, focusing on cleaning to leave the room as soon as possible. Suddenly, I felt a sharp kick to my ribs, knocking me sideways. "I asked you a question! Who said you could enter my room?" I winced, quickly rising to my feet, wiping blood from my face with the back of my hand, scrambling for words.

"I apologize, Your Highness, I just—" Before I could finish, she cut me off with a piercing glare. "You just what?" I struggled for the right response, swallowing hard, my chest heaving. Finally, I bowed my head and murmured, "I will leave immediately." Hastening towards the door, she stopped me with a command. "Oh no, who gave you permission to leave yet?" Reluctantly, I stop, not daring to provoke further trouble. Approaching her, I bowed my head in fear as she added with a mischievous smile, "Get down on all fours. Sitting like this is becoming uncomfortable." I complied immediately, not wanting punishment for disobeying her.

I tried to blink back the tears that welled up in my eyes as I got down on all fours. I knew what the princess was about to do because this wasn't the first time. She placed her legs on my back while continuing to yell at the maids to hurry up. Tears fell to the ground, mixing with the blood still oozing from the cut on my forehead. She didn't care how degrading it was to use me as a footrest.

"Make your back flatter; don't make my legs uncomfortable," she demanded, hitting me hard with her legs. I winced in pain, adjusting my posture to her satisfaction. It had been a year since Alpha Thane destroyed my entire family and brought me to his pack, refusing to kill me for reasons unknown. Death would be better than the life I was living now, where I was constantly humiliated, physically abused, and mentally torn apart. When I first arrived, they threw me in the dungeon without food or water for days. Then, they made me a common maid within the palace walls, and Thane would use me for his own personal pleasures whenever he wanted.

"You are making this uncomfortable," Princess Kaida barked again, removing her legs from my back before kicking me hard in the ribs, causing me to fall to the side. She stood up, walked towards me, and grabbed me by the hair. "What use are you if you can't even hold yourself steady so I can rest my legs?" I struggled to free my hair from her tight grasp, but my efforts were in vain. Just as she lifted her hand to slap me, a maid interrupted.

"His Majesty would like to have a word with her, my princess," the maid said. Princess Kida's slap froze in the air as she stared at the maid and then back at me, clearly disappointed that she couldn't make me suffer as she wanted. "I will deal with you later," she said, pushing me away and causing me to fall to the ground. "Get away from here, you worthless wretch."

I scrambled to my feet and quickly left the room, tears streaming down my face.

I arrived in front of Alpha Thane's chambers, taking a deep breath before pushing the door open. As soon as they saw me, the giggling inside abruptly stopped. I looked down, my chest slowly rising and falling as I fumbled with my dress, feeling increasingly nervous and not wanting to cause a scene. Alpha Thane lay on the bed, surrounded by three naked women, clearly enjoying himself before my interruption.

"Oh, ladies," Alpha Thane said, his tone filled with mockery. "It seems you all might have to leave now; the love of my life is here." The women giggled as they got dressed and walked past me, deliberately brushing against me as if I were invisible. Once they left and the door closed with a bang, Thane's eyes roved over me. "Take off your clothes and come here," he commanded. He was going to force himself on me again, and I couldn't bear the thought

"I don't want to have to repeat myself, Akira. Take off your clothes and come to bed," he said more sternly. I shook my head, taking a step back, knowing I was risking trouble. He would get his way whether I liked it or not, but I wasn't willing to make it easy for him. Thane cursed under his breath, rising to his feet and walking towards me angrily. I started to cry, pleading, "Please, no. Don't..." But he quickly closed the distance, grabbing me by the back of my neck and slamming me against the table. My face collided harshly with the wooden surface.

"How dare you resist me?" he snarled, pinning me down with one hand while tearing my dress with the other. "I have told you already, you belong to me. No matter how hard you try to resist, you're mine, Akira." I cried and pleaded desperately as he prepared to violate me again. Just then, a knock on the door interrupted him, followed by a voice announcing, "They are here, Your Majesty." Frustrated, Thane pulled away, giving me a chance to stand up and adjust myself, thankful that I was spared this time.

"Get out of here," he barked. I nodded quickly, clutching the remains of my torn dress to cover myself. As I left the room, a guard looked at me with disgust and muttered, "f*****g whore.”

I took a deep breath, wiping away my tears as I made my way to my room . It was dark and dirty, a space previously used to keep the dogs before I arrived.

Were they really here? The Order of the Grey Hand they call them. They were the three Alpha of Silvermoon pack. They were no ordinary Alphas, and their pack was far from ordinary. The Silvermoon pack was ruled by three powerful ancient Alphas who were brothers, sharing everything and anything. I didn’t know how Thane had managed to get his sister to marry all three brothers at once, but they were here to take her with them.

No one knew what they looked like, but no one dared to confront their pack in battle, as it guaranteed total destruction. They were that powerful, ruling over many kingdoms and clans. How Thane had managed to call their audience into his much smaller pack. Why they were marrying his sister, Princess Kaida, remained a mystery. But Thane’s motives were clear: power. With the three supreme Alphas as his in-laws, his path to supreme power was secured.

“What are you doing here?” a maid demanded, bursting into the room and pulling me from my thoughts. “You shouldn't be wasting time here. Come with me right now!” she barked. I quickly put on another dress, cleaning myself properly before stepping out again.

“We have important people visiting today, so we all have to welcome them,” the head maid said as we lined up in the corridor, our heads slightly bowed. “Do not raise your head or make eye contact with the supreme Alphas. Anyone who does will be dead,” she warned. We listened attentively as she gave more instructions.

I swallowed hard, nervously wiping my sweaty hands. “They are here,” the head maid announced, panicking as she joined us in line, keeping her head bowed like the rest of us. The atmosphere in the room shifted dramatically. I kept my eyes glued to the ground, hearing only the sounds of approaching footsteps. Their presence was powerful, the power radiating from them with each step. I was tempted to raise my head for a glimpse, but I knew the trouble that would bring.

The footsteps grew closer and closer, and I could sense the maids next to me were as terrified as I was. The steps stopped directly in front of me, and I could feel someone standing there, perhaps staring at me. My head remained bowed, as I was slowly getting scared.

My heart was beating very fast in my chest as something began to stir within me. My eyes widened in shock as I felt my wolf for the first time in a year. It was as if she had vanished after witnessing the horrifying destruction Thane brought on my pack, but now she was here, and I could feel her presence inside me.

“You,” a deep, commanding voice said, sending shivers down my spine. “Raise your head.” The person stood directly in front of me, so they must have been talking to me. But what if they weren't?I wondered. I could get into serious trouble for raising my head without permission. Hesitating, I slowly lifted my eyes and made eye contact with him.

Before me stood three men, standing behind them were a few guards and Alpha Thane, who looked confused and scared. The three men were at least 6'4" tall, towering over me, each with different features that made them seem both powerful and intimidating. They had an aura of authority that made me feel small in their presence. I gulped, scared by their sight, while they continued to stare at me.

At that moment, my wolf stirred within me, almost as if she wanted to come out. I felt a strange, powerful connection with these men, as if an invisible bond linked us together. Then, my wolf whispered something that shocked me: “Mates…” I gasped in disbelief, stepping back as I tried to process what was happening. Could I be mated to one of the supreme Alphas?

“One of them is my mate?” I asked my wolf, mind linking with her.

“One of them isn't your mate,” she replied, pausing dramatically before adding, “All three are.”
