Episode 4 - Jackson's point of view

1045 Words
I couldn't sleep. I had met this girl today. She was absolutely mesmerizing. I had never felt drawn to a girl like this before. Her long, dark blonde hair, her green eyes that seemed to stare straight into my soul, her slight body I just wanted to hold. I have never felt like this. As soon as she walked in, Alison, Kyle and I could smell she was a werewolf like us. But there's something weird about that: she doesn't seem to know that she is, nor does she seem to even know that werewolves exist. Or any supernatural beings. That is super strange. She mentioned her parents were dead and that she lives with her grandmother. Maybe her grandmother is human and clueless. Or maybe she just doesn't want Maisie to know. But Maisie will be 18 this year and that is when our wolves make themselves known to us, when we can shift and when we can recognize our mates... How will she react to this if she is not at all prepared? I have the feeling that Maisie could be my mate. I felt sparks when we touched earlier on and I just feel a magnetic pull towards her. Not because she's the new girl, not because she is so gorgeous. It definitely feels like more. With my 18th birthday coming up in a couple of weeks, I will soon know. If she is my mate, by the goddess, how do I deal with that without scaring the s**t out of her???  This is one complicated situation. Kyle and Alison tried to get me to talk after school. After we had left Rosie hanging, they interrogated me on the way home. They said I had been acting weird and asked if I thought Maisie was my mate? And why the hell she seemed oblivious to the fact she is a werewolf? All questions I have going round my own head already. I told them I didn't feel like talking about it for now but I certainly would as soon as things were a bit clearer. They are my best friends and destined to be my trusty advisors. I am to be Alpha of the Graceful Moon pack one day, when my father feels I am ready to take over. Kyle will be my Beta, as his father is today and Alison is destined to be Gamma. If Maisie is to be my mate, she will be Luna to this pack and govern by my side. Wow, she'd have a lot to learn in little time as my father has been hinting he would like to hand over the reins as soon as I graduate. I must find out when her birthday is. I must find out all I can about her. I want to be with her.  I need to set a few things straight so she feels comfortable when the time comes. I do not want my Luna to feel I have not treated her with the utmost respect. Rosie is in the habit of touching me a lot and calling me honey, sweetheart and the like. We have occasionally made out in the past, at parties where I had drunk a little and was up for it. Never anything more however and she knew I didn't want to have a girlfriend. Still, I felt she was staking a claim on me today, even more so than usual. I don't know if it is because I hadn't seen her all summer or if it was to warn Maisie to keep her hands off. But I really don't want her to keep her hands off... Then there is Sharon. Sharon is a girl from our pack who I fooled around with on one occasion and who has not given up hope since then that she will be my luna. She throws herself at me quite regularly and I have already told her a thousand times there is no way anything will ever happen again but there has been no deterring her so far. She could be a problem. Of course, there is a possibility that Maisie isn't actually my mate and that I'm racking my brains for nothing but I cannot believe that. There's something very strong there.  I want to be near her. I want to know more about her life. She told me she lived on Old Winston Road. It is just on the outskirts of our pack land. I decide to head over that way and find out where she lives. Maybe I can listen in on a bit of interaction with her grandmother and get a feel of what's going on there. Once I am on Old Winston Road, it is pretty easy to follow her divine vanilla scent. It leads me to a small but sweet cottage with lots of white wood (the painting could do with a freshen up) and creeping plants. Her vanilla scent mixes with the honeysuckle on the house and it's delicious. "Jackson. Jackson Grey" I hear her say. She's talking about me. I beam on the inside. I thought she was also troubled by me but she seemed different after she had met with Rosie. Up until we touched hands I began to wonder if I had the same effect on her as she had on me. Then I saw her completely freak out when we touched. I want to touch her again.  "He's tall, strong. He has the most gorgeous amber eyes. He is really kind and thoughtful and seemed genuinely interested in me. A real gentleman." She sounds pretty excited about me! I'm so glad. They go on to talking about this and that and having a good laugh. They seem very close. I am under the impression that Maisie's grandmother is also a werewolf but I can't quite confirm from here. Why would she hide this from her granddaughter?  I decide I want to stay close to Maisie tonight. I remove my clothes and fold them neatly before shifting into my wolf form. Like most alphas, my wolf is black. I blend well into the forest by night. I just lie there and rest, knowing that Maisie is close. I am excited to get to know her more tomorrow.
