It was an unusual visit he'd had with the developer, and mostly it had been about him personally. The man was in bad shape when he arrived, and Thomas had waited patiently for him to talk, not sure why he requested an appointment. But once he arrived, his actions confirmed it wasn't to talk business. It was clear by the way the man fiddled with the Bible on his desk, and then with the frame of his children, his shoulders slumped forward, contemplating.
