Respectful silence filled the car as they watched the scenery pass in a green blur; vineyards lined the land, their branches heavy with clusters of ripe grapes. Workers were scattered between the vineyards, harvesting them. The countryside itself looked beautiful, colored in different shades of greens with patches of wild flowers in between. From time to time, the scenery would change, and Anabella could make out the white sand that emerged from areas of field flowers and tall grass. The sky was painted in shades of light blue, sparkling without any filthy smoke choking the sky as in the mother city. The tranquility outside streamed inside the vehicle and filled them with contented peacefulness. Eventually, they slowed down, and at the next turn-off Aldrich turned left on to a gravel road
