THE FIFTH TRIAL CONTINENT

753 Words
Chris stood tall, his breathing heavy yet his smile soft. Faint crimson streaks now ran through his white hair, a mark left behind by the flame essence he had absorbed. "Just a little while longer," he muttered, clenching his fist. "I will break through into the Golden Core stage." He withdrew into the fourth trial continent and soon found a hidden cave. It felt almost like his old one outside the void, except this one had a majestic waterfall cascading directly onto its entrance. Trees heavy with healing fruits and vitality-enhancing herbs surrounded it on all sides. At night, he cultivated and rested. During the day, he hunted for food and trained relentlessly, sharpening his techniques and skills. The dense Qi surrounding the cave was richer than anywhere else on the continent, allowing him to progress at an astonishing speed. [Perfect Core Formation Stage: 37%] Chris’s eyes snapped open. His aura exploded outward, and for a brief moment, everything around him seemed to slow down—both inside and outside the cave. Birds froze mid-flight, their chirping silenced. Leaves stopped rustling. The waterfall paused in its descent. Even the air itself appeared to acknowledge his rising power. Meanwhile, on the other side of the continent, Senior Yang stood before a gathered army of disciples, arms clasped behind his back. His golden-brown hair danced gently in the wind, infused with his powerful Golden Core aura. “Once the sun rises to its peak, we enter,” he commanded. “Claim whatever treasures you find for yourselves and for the Lion Clan. Find the Void Inheritance. If anything moves… kill it.” *I'm coming for you, boy. Wait patiently for me—I know you're still alive.* A wicked smile spread across Sung’s face as he glared at the fading energy of the barrier. Elder Mia sat on a log beside a golden-brown tent, sharpening her blade with a cruel glint in her eyes. *I can already taste that arrogant boy’s blood. If he’s still alive, then he’s mine… and so are you, Sung.* The Lion Clan was in full preparation mode. The barrier had weakened dramatically. Hundreds of disciples and over a hundred elite fighters stood ready, weapons drawn and auras flaring. Chris floated cross-legged in mid-air, his core aura radiating calmly. After a short period of consolidation, he slowly opened his eyes and stared toward the most massive structure he had seen yet—the Fifth Trial Hall. *Time don reach. Make I finish this trial before those people come and disturb my hustle.* [It's time. Let me finish this trial before those people come and disturb my peace.] He shot upward like a blazing comet, his white hair with crimson streaks flowing wildly behind him. He arrived at the Fifth Trial Continent like a streak of fire and gold. The Fifth Trial Hall was a colossal black and crimson palace suspended above an endless abyss. Ancient statues of cultivators, frozen in stone, knelt in reverence around it. Chris advanced forward, the hard ground cracking beneath his feet as sweat evaporated from his skin. *Everything here is incredible, but the opponents will be more annoying. Too strong, too smart. Omo, this Void Realm, me I don try for you oh.* [Everything here is incredible, but the opponents will be more annoying. Too strong, too smart. Damn, this Void Realm, I've really tried for you.] He halted a few feet away from the giant gates and looked up. “The Fifth Trial Hall,” Chris said, his voice steady but filled with excitement. “This is the last of the first stage. Make we finish am in style.” [This is the last of the first stage. Let's finish it in style.] “Challenger has reached the final trial of the first stage,” a majestic voice boomed. “Only those worthy may claim the Void True’s Blessing. Fifteen Guardians await, all wielding high-level techniques and coordinated formations. One-hour limit. Fight alone. Endure the Judgement of the Void Sovereigns. DO NOT FAIL, CHALLENGER.” *Now that's odd. I thought the voice was automatic and recorded,* Chris thought, scratching his head. His gaze locked onto the massive, overwhelming gate. His fingers twitched with anticipation.
