DELUSIONAL DEVIL

826 Words
Chris exhaled softly, his breath visible like white mist in the cold air. His injuries were closing at a rapid rate. He stared ahead as three guardians dashed toward him. *Let's rumble.* He exploded forward like a sonic wave. They met head-on. The first guardian clashed with Chris above the ground, causing the earth below to shatter outward. Blade met axe. They moved like lightning. Chris evaded an upward s***h at the very last moment. “SHEPE!” The guardian paused momentarily. In that instant, Chris swung his katana and severed the warrior into four clean halves, slicing through its core as well. Before he could even breathe, a dragon-like guardian burst out from beneath the tiles, claws aimed directly at his thighs. Chris spun at the last second. The attack tore open his back instead. Gritting his teeth through the pain, he delivered a powerful kick to the back of the dragon’s head. Bam! The guardian slammed hard into the ground. Spear-like pillars suddenly shot upward from the earth. “Ahhh!” The dragon groaned, spitting out blood, its eyes swollen and red. “Blade Art: One Blade.” Mid-air, Chris drew his katana, core Qi surging dangerously. “Ten Thousand Cries!” The dragon leaped aside, but Chris used Void Step and appeared behind it instantly. With a devastating Core Qi Blast, he crushed the dragon’s core, tearing through its hard scales and armor. *Three left… and one is already coming.* “You’re mine!” A knight roared, bringing his sword down toward Chris’s head. “Too slow.” Chris knocked the sword out of the knight’s hand with a sharp strike to his fingers. He immediately followed up by tossing sand into the guardian’s eyes. The knight roared in rage, swinging his sword wildly in every direction. Chris calmly stepped into the knight’s range. “Naija Heritage: Shield of Shege!” A protective shield materialized, blocking most of the frenzied attacks. Chris caught the knight’s sword mid-strike, twisted it out of his grip, and unleashed a barrage of powerful Core Qi-infused punches into the guardian’s stomach. The air exploded from the knight’s lungs. Before he could recover, Chris drove his blade straight into the core hidden inside the knight’s head. Thud! The body collapsed to the earth. Chris dropped to one knee, sweaty, bruised, and covered in cuts. *Two remain.* [Absorbing Floating Core Essence To Restore Host’s Core Qi] [Core Qi Energy Restored To 40%] The Naija youth grunted as he forced himself back to his feet. He slowly walked toward the remaining two guardians — the Sword Saint and the Fist Emperor. Both stood motionless, watching him silently. Gulp! He swallowed twenty Healing Pills in seconds. All his wounds closed up in the blink of an eye. Chris chuckled loudly as his core aura surged, reborn and stronger than before. [Host Body Fully Healed] [Qi Reserves At 100%] [Healing Pills Restoring Body To Full Capacity] *I’m tired of playing fair. I have everything at my disposal — I will utilize it all to my heart’s content.* “I’ll give you credit, boy. You did more than I imagined,” the Fist Emperor said, flexing his massive shoulders. “But the real battle of the Five Trials begins now.” “Doesn’t matter,” Chris replied, strutting forward with his katana firmly in his right hand. “What I see before me are two people waiting to be slaughtered.” “Bold words, boy. Bold words,” the Emperor smirked, stepping forward. “Stop talking too much, guardian. Just give me your all and die peacefully,” Chris mocked. The air reeked of dried blood, ice, sweat, and burning flames. “Your power is still incomplete, boy,” the Emperor said. “You’re only this strong because of the treasures you’ve hidden away. Every cultivator I’ve seen advances with a technique or follows a proper cultivation path to fully unleash their realm’s potential. But you… you have nothing.” Both continued walking toward each other, sharp smirks etched on their faces. “Doesn’t matter,” Chris replied. “I’m still going to kill you. Patterns and techniques are for those willing to follow the rules of the world. Those who wish to rise above everything cheat and break the laws to seize the power they desire.” “Insolent brat!” The Emperor’s voice shook the entire hall, his energy rippling outward like a violent wave. “The laws were created to protect the order of cultivation! Without them, chaos would be a mercy for what would befall even the heavens and beyond!” “Chaos and destruction are sometimes needed to bring true stability and order,” Chris said coldly. “Cheating and underhanded means help uphold the pillars of law and order.” “Delusional devil!” the Emperor cursed. Whoosh! He charged forward with lightning speed. “Sword Saint, do not interfere!” the Emperor commanded. “He’s mine.”
