Dear Stary, After reviewing the details of your contract, I’ve decided not to move forward with your platform. While I appreciate the opportunity, there are several key issues that I find concerning. First, the contract’s rights grant for the entire term of copyright is too excessive. The conditions for terminating the contract are too rigid, and having to repay earnings over a 36-month period—especially at double the rate for Premium Content—makes this clause unreasonable. Additionally, the required writing pace for bonuses—such as daily chapters and 50,000 words per month—simply isn’t realistic for me. The idea that someone else could take over my work if I fall behind only adds to the pressure. The lack of clear payment terms and financial reporting is also a problem. Without a defined payment schedule or transparency on revenue, it’s hard to trust that compensation will be adequate. The first right of refusal clause on sequels or prequels, without a set deadline, is another concern, as it leaves me in a potentially indefinite waiting period. Finally, the confidentiality clauses and penalties for breach are overly restrictive, limiting my ability to freely discuss my experience. Due to these factors, I must decline your offer. Best regards, Lexi
