DARKROOM

988 Words

OWAIN LUTHER I halted my car at DAWN’s so-called driveway. Not that there was really one anyway, just a rough patch of ground in front of the building entrance. It was my idea to have it that way. Something anyone looking from the outside would assume was one of those cheap local clubs where you drink, dine, slap some ass, and leave. But DAWN wasn't that. DAWN was its own kind of hell. Some called it that. But, the few who’ve tasted what the filth of the real world is about, call it their own special kind of heaven. Such irony.... But don’t get me wrong—heaven is real. I just doubt any of them would make it there. I turned the knob and pushed inside. Sometimes I walk in through the front like everyone else. Sometimes through the VVIP elevator, where it’s only me. Depends on my mood.
