Haley"Seven years in Chicago, wow. What brings you back to Oak Creek?" Haley playfully twirled the glass of Guinness sitting in front of her.
Austin’s lips stretched into a small smile Haley wasn’t sure how to interpret. "I came here for my mom—"
The waitress interrupted, balancing two plates of wood-grilled hamburgers and mountains of sizzling fries.
"Maddie," Haley greeted Pat’s expecting wife. "How are you?" She smiled with a glance at the woman’s obviously pregnant belly.
"Ah, the twins and I are good, lass. Feels like we’re going onto twenty-two years instead of twenty-two weeks," Maddie said with a twinkle in her eyes.
