Belong to You

Raquel’s POV I stared at him, confused, while digesting the meaning behind his question. We’ve come this far, and he’s asking if I’ll continue this relationship? If I say I don’t want to, will he send me back to the Welch family? The problem is, the Welch family might not accept me anymore. How can someone unwanted by the Kingston family be wanted by the Welch family? His expression is minimal, almost showing nothing, as if he’s just asking about the day. But I pondered deeply. Is this a joke? Or does he know I’m a substitute, and he doesn’t want to be with me? So, he doesn’t want me either? I lowered my head, holding back tears. No one wants me—where should I go? I have no place to call home, no one waiting for me. I am alone in this world. It hurts. He seems to sense my emotional shift. He reaches out to touch my chin, forcing me to look at him. His warm hand is just like in my memories from last night. “What are you thinking?” he asks with impatience in his voice and a sharp furrow in his brow. I dare not answer, breathing heavily, avoiding eye contact as much as possible. “Are you really scared of me? Do I look like a monster?” “N-no... you’re not ....” I shake my head, struggling. I want to explain my issues, but I don’t know where to start. Besides, this isn’t his fault at all. I feel an intense gaze, making my face warm and the tears in my eyes unstoppable. In a hoarse voice, I respond, “I was just thinking... You’re also like them. You don’t want me.” As I say those words, I bite my lower lip hard, reluctant to meet Isaac’s gaze. Afraid to see pity in his eyes, just like the servants in the Welch family who pitied me. But none of them could help me out of that abyss. A tear rolls down my cheek, and I quickly wipe it away. He won’t get angry seeing me cry, right? He’s not cold-hearted and forcing me to be silent, right? I want to stop crying so as not to upset him, but I can’t. My tears keep flowing, and I can’t stifle my sobbing. It’s been so long since I cried in front of someone, and this is the first time I’ve let my emotions overflow. “I’m sorry...” I say, hoping he can understand. No sound comes from him. It seems he doesn’t mind my tears. After crying for a while, I sneak a peek at his face. Still the same, no excessive emotions, no mockery, no pity. I breathe a silent sigh of relief. Only after ensuring I feel calm does he slowly say, “I want you.” Slightly surprised, I looked up to see him. The voice saying that sounded like a melodious song in my ears. I dared not believe it at all. My mother said the same thing, but she left me forever. The voice sounded again. “I want your body.” Is this real? I wondered in my heart, and his serious expression made me believe. This is indeed real. Even if... even if he only wants my body, I’ll give it to him. It’s all I have, isn’t it? At least someone still wants me. “Listen to me carefully.” He reached for my chin again, our gazes meeting. I nodded in embarrassment. My face must look awful with swollen eyes and a red nose, and I felt a bit uneasy about how he looked at me. It seems I’m genuinely unpleasant to look at. “Don’t think too much,” he said again, surprising me. Ah, it seems he knows what’s on my mind. “Let’s talk about the deal. I said I want your body because I can feel you’re suitable for me.” I nodded slightly. “There’s not much else I want, and you must obey me.” “Um.” I nodded again, still staring into his eyes. “If you disobey my orders and reject me, I won’t hesitate to discard you.” A flash of panic appeared in my eyes upon hearing the last word he uttered. I didn’t want to be discarded. “I’ll obey, I’ll be obedient. Don’t discard me.” I hoped my weak and pleading voice could convey my sincerity. He nodded slightly, appearing satisfied. “What about you? What do you want from me?” As soon as that question was asked, my mind went a bit blank. What do I want? I don’t know either. This is the first time someone has asked me this after my mother’s death. So, what do I want? Just... someone wanting me. That’s enough. I shook my head, and in a low, murmuring voice, I replied, “Just don’t discard me, don’t drive me away. I... I can do anything for you, I can obey you, follow your wishes, everything....” “Yeah, that’s good.” His hand left my chin, and I felt a bit empty. He looked towards the forest before turning and continuing his steps. Curiously, I followed his gaze but found nothing but dense trees. Maybe it was just a fleeting glance because we’re here, I thought. After a few steps away from the forest, he suddenly spoke to me again. “You can ask for anything from me, and I will give it to you as long as it’s not love.” I am a bit stunned. Love? What is love? I didn’t even dare to think about it, how could I ask him for it? It’s absurd. Nevertheless, I still nodded in response. No wedding ceremony, no introduction to the entire Kingston family, I just rested in the room provided for me throughout the day. I ate when hungry and slept when drowsy. Night fell quickly. I opened the window and let the night breeze seep into the room. The curtains fluttered under the light of the full moon. It’s a few minutes before midnight, but Isaac still hadn’t shown up. I paced back and forth in my room, feeling the rapid thumping of my heart. Anxious, afraid, and nervous. It’s almost time... Will it be painful, as I heard from the stories of the servants in the Welch family? As my heart raced, the bedroom door slowly opened, and his figure appeared in my field of vision. His steps were steady, and his posture upright. A faint smile on his lips added to the temptation. His entire being looked perfect. But... One of his eyes is red. It was the same as that night when he kissed me aggressively. Different from that night, Isaac in front of me now seemed more at ease and open, as if he had already claimed me as his. Standing in front of me, his gaze looked intense and full of emotions. This was a different side of Isaac that I had just witnessed. “Lift your face,” he commanded. I followed his command and looked up. His aura was overwhelming, making me feel overwhelmed, and I desperately wanted to kneel at his feet, begging for life. This man is incredibly alluring. From his eyes, I could see the reflection of myself. It is just me, and it made me feel better. He approached me, our bodies almost touching. His head nestled into my neck, and his hot breath tickled my skin. He sniffed my scent. I wasn’t sure, but there was a faint hint of roses mingling with the forest scent again. As the pheromone scent mixed and filled the room, I felt like trapped feelings in a mysterious dark forest. I could feel a hot tongue licking my neck, making me momentarily weak. I reached out to hug his waist. On the full moon at midnight, he kissed my neck before revealing his fangs and biting hard. A low moan escaped from my lips, I felt embarrassed. Not only because of the pain but also because I could sense an electric shock-like feeling throughout my body. Closing my eyes tightly, there was an itching sensation in my heart. I craved it, for Isaac Kingston, my alpha, my husband, to pamper me. He licked his bite mark before asking in his deep and husky voice, “Say, to whom do you belong?” I opened my eyes, staring into the handsome face with eyes as deep as the ocean, my voice slightly hoarse as I answered, “I belong to you.” A thin triumphant smile etched on his face. Extremely charming. “Then, tonight, you will be entirely mine.”
