Chapter Two - "It is time for the truth."

1169 Words
Hallie’s P.O.V I nervously walked out to Deacon’s car with him by my side. I honestly wish they would have let me get a cab cause I cannot handle being alone in the car with him. All of a sudden, I feel the palm of his hand land on the small of my back, a shiver shooting down my spine. “You Ok there Hallie?” He said. I nodded, refusing to look at him. If I did, he would see my flushed cheeks and darkened eyes. I hear him let a dark chuckle out from beside me. I am glad I do not stay too far from here. My journey with him will not be for too long. He led us to his car, opening the passenger’s door and letting me climb in, closing the door behind me before heading to round to the driver’s seat and climbing in. I found myself scooting as far over the opposite way from him on the seat, turning and staring out of the window. “You still at the same place?” he asked. “Yes,” I said not looking at him. He soon started the car, the two of us getting on our way. I slowly turned my head to look at him, his eyes concentrating on the road. I let my eyes roam over him for a moment, from his strong jawline to his kissable lips and beautiful eyes. I licked my lips, swallowing hard as I admired him for a moment. I pulled away before he caught me. All of a sudden, he pulled up on the side of the road, stopping the car. “Deacon why have you stopped?” I whispered out. He never answered me at first, instead he took his seat belt off, turning around to face me. He had a small smirk playing on his lips. “It is time for the truth.” He said seeming slightly smug. “The truth?” I stuttered out, “The truth about what?” I added. I have no clue what he means. The truth? What truth? “About how much you want me?” he said confidently. I froze with his words. How does he even expect me to answer that question? “What?” I managed to blurt out. He chuckled, reaching over, and placing one of his hands on my knee, making me shiver. “Come on Hallie admit it. You have been trying to hide it for years but now I see how obvious it is to notice.” He said. I had to get a grip on myself. As I said I am usually confident, until I am around him. Maybe it is time I try to start being that way around him too, easier said than done, I think. “Deacon what does it matter? If I am or are not, it does not matter either way. You do not see me like that. I am not your type and more than anything you are Penny’s brother. Can we please drop this?” I said sternly. He looked at me, not saying a word before nodding his head, putting his seatbelt back on and start the car again. Seriously? He is not gonna say anything? I shook my head, annoyed at him cause he is the one that brought and then does not say anything. I turned my attention back to looking out of the window, wanting to get home quicker now. As soon as we pulled up outside my apartment, I thanked him, climbing out and heading up to my apartment. I unlocked my door, heading inside and went to close the door behind me but before I could Deacon appeared, walking straight in. Yes, Deacon please come in cause I really wanna be alone with you somewhere that has a bed, that arises to many dirty thoughts. “Who said I never saw you that way?” he said suddenly. His words soon made me turn around, made my ears perk up. “What? You clearly do not. You have never looked at me that way, plus I am not your type AT ALL so what is with the bullshit?” I said, placing one hand on my hip. I was trying to stand my ground, come across as confident cause the way he was looking at me was intense. He was looking at me like he was gonna pounce at any moment. He stepped in closer to me, resting one hand on my hip and he reached into my ear. “Did you ever think maybe you just never seen me looking?” he whispered his warm breath making me shiver once again. I swallowed hard. What does that even mean? There is no chance he has ever looked at me in that way. I am the complete opposite of the kind of woman he usually goes for. I decided the best thing for me to do was to take a step back from him, actually, make that a few steps back from him to be safe. “Deacon what are you doing? Are you that bored with your life you decide to mess with me?” I said. “Who said I was messing with you?” he smirked. “Why else would you be saying all this to me?” I said. “You think maybe I am saying this cause I am attracted to you?” He said stepping into me again. Now I really think he is messing with me. I know I should move away, I could not though, it was like I was frozen on the spot. He reached in, brushing his lips against mine. A loud whimper falling from deep in my throat, but he never kissed me, and instead, he reached into my ear. “See you around sexy.” He growled in my ear before walking away. “f*****g asshole,” I called after him. “I know, you love it though. See you real soon.” He said smirking over his shoulder at me before he walked out of my apartment. What the actual f**k was that? Did he mean what he was saying? Was he messing with my head? And he will see me real soon? What does that mean? He has pissed me off. I groaned, throwing my hands in the air before storming off to my bedroom. I stripped down, pulling my pjs on and climbing into bed. As I settled down my phone went. I grabbed it, seeing a text from an unknown number. From Unknown: Do not worry we will get a chance to continue ;) D x Deacon, where did he even get my number? Hallie: Where did you get my number? And continue what?  Deacon: I asked Penny, told her you had left something in my car ;). We will continue where we left, you will eventually get what you have always wanted…me ;) Night x  Hallie: Glad you think so. Night. The conversation ended there. I put my phone on silent for the night. I will probably not hear from him again, unless I see him at Penny’s, not gonna get my hopes up. I know how he treats women and I am only another one for him to mess with.
