THE PREVIOUS NIGHT
Cessy knew Fitz was hell bent on leaving his throne for the sake of their happiness. He didn't want them to make a decision that they may have to regret in the future, he had to do something to make Fitz change his mind.
Fitz walked into his room to see Cessy packing his clothes into his bags which made him a bit confused because Cessy planned on staying a while longer but why the sudden move.
"what's with the suitcase?" Fitz asked as he observed Cessy's every move
"I'm going back home" he replied Fitz as he continued arranging his clothes into his bags
"Home? Is everything okay? Did something happen that I should be aware of?" he was getting worried
"Nothing happened I just want to go home so you can think well on what you need to do, I feel like my presence is affecting you "
"Haven't we talked about this before?, I can't get married to anyone else if that person isn't you, plus leaving the crown is something I am prepared to do" Fitz said unpacking Cessy's bag and placing the clothes back into the wardrobe
" Would you stop, I'm trying to pack here"
"And I'm trying to unpack, what made you think I'll let you leave easily?” Fitz asked
"I just can't help but think about the innocent lives that would be lost in the process if you decide to leave the crown just because the next king is not as good as you're, you'll not be able to live with the guilt knowing that you could have saved them, I’m not telling you this just because I feel like but that's the truth. I don't want you to throw away everything you've worked hard for all these years just because of me" Fitz didn't like it that Cessy only thought about other people but himself.
" I love you Fitz but I will encourage you to do the right thing when it's necessary, just get married to him nobody is saying you should live in the same room or love him, just see him as a guest on a really long vacation in the palace, I'm not going to leave you, I'm going to be here all through and make sure that you are alright because I love you but I can't love a man who abandons his people" he said hoping he reached Fitz.
The next morning Fitz was all dressed he looked at himself in the mirror and saw a spineless and powerless king he swore to himself that this would be the last time he would ever have to give into anyone's demand. Cessy hugged him from behind
"Don't worry everything will fall into its rightful place" Fitz was mad at Cessy for putting others before their very own happiness so he didn't want to talk to him, he pulled out of the hug and walked out on Cessy without saying a word.
"Good morning everyone, I am sure you are all curious to why I have requested for your presence, as you all know the clan of Meath proposed a request which I have slept over and I have finally decided that I the King Fitz of the kingdom of Ulster, agrees to get married to the son of Lord Nevin" he said trying to control his tears from falling down his eyes.
The Meath clan all rejoiced on hearing the news while the Leinster expected nothing less they all knew that Fitz didn't stand a chance with Meath.
According to the customs the newly appointed bride was to move into the palace a week before the marriage so as to prepare her but in this case him for his position as the wife of the king and the queen of the kingdom.
Immediately Lord Nevin came back from the council meeting, he instructed Aine to pack up his clothes because he was to be groomed on how to behave and his duties as the wife of King Fitz. Fitz was still mad at Cessy, but he knew he wouldn't stay mad at him for long. Nanny P instructed all the servants to get the palace cleaned for the arrival of the soon to be queen, Keera came down to look for Nanny P so she could have her bath and met Nanny P busy, she decided to meet Fitz
" Fitz, I need a bath right now" she announced as she jumped on their bed
" Princess, your brother is taking his bath also, do you want me to help you" Cessy offered with a smile, Keera stared at him for a while
" No thanks, that means you get to see me naked for free no thank you. I'll wait for Fitz" she said which made Cessy laugh, there was a knock on the door which moved Cessy attention to the door,
"Your highness" greeted the maid who walked in.
"Nanny P wanted your opinion on what color should be used in the guest's room" she said showing him the different shade of color in her hands, he selected what he felt would be nice and the maid left,
" We have a guest?" Keera was not aware of anything about the marriage of Fitz to Aine,
"Yes we do" Cessy replied as he stood to prepare Fitz's clothes
"Why was I not informed” Keera asked with her hands on her waist
"Well that's because it's not that important and it's adult stuff, do you understand?" Cessy touched Keera's nose, she smacked his hand
" Don't you ever do that again, I’m not a child" she rolled her eyes at him
" I'm going to check if Nanny P is done, am starting to smell myself" she said leaving the room
"why did you lie to her" Fitz asked coming out of the shower,
"Come on Fitz, she's just a child we don't have to tell her just yet. Don’t you see she's happy?, do you want to make her sad?" he handed Fitz a towel for his hair
"You're the one that needs to answer those questions on your own, you were the only one that made me agree to this so-called marriage. So you should be responsible for it" he refused to take the towel and proceed on wearing his clothes after drying his body,
"Are you still mad at me" Cessy knew the answer to his very own question.
"What do you think, the one that claimed to love me gave me away so easily" he pressed the bottom by the side of his bed requesting a maid.
"I love you with every bit of my heart and you know it, I was just concerned about the innocent people who trust you to serve them with your life" a maid arrived and Fitz ordered his hair to be wiped dry but Cessy asked her to leave
" Why did you do that, I'm here I can do that" Cessy said he was getting really hurt by Fitz's actions
"That's the exact same thing you made me do today" with that he left the room leaving Cessy to his think about if his decision was right or wrong.
