CHAPTER FOUR: IMPOSSIBLE

The next morning Fitz sent representative to Meath in proposal of a peace on the issue of the attack, he offered them some plots of land belongings to Leinster but lord Nevin refused saying that they could take the land back, he asked Fitz to wait for 2days so his clan could deliberate on a fitting compensation for both the attack and whatever happened between Fitz and Aine the previous day.
Fitz wasn't happy with the response of Meath but he knew a war with them must be avoided at all cost – a war with Meath meant that he would lose a lot of lives in the process and it was his duty as both the king of Ulster and the ruler of Leinster to protect them from harm and try to make the kingdom live in peace together.
Princess Keera walked into Fitz's room and his face lit up immediately. Keera was his only source of happiness
" My queen, to what do I owe this pleasure" Keera busted out in laughter
"You sound like Nanny P"
"Oh really, so tell me what can I do for you?"
"I came to see you my lovely darling brother" she said with her hands joined together with a mischievous grin on her face
"Really? Are you sick?, the only time you're in my bedroom is either you needs something or you did something bad, which is it?"
" Well don't act like you know me too well, I could surprise you one day and change my ways but for now I'm hungry and I don't want to eat anything Nanny P prepares, I miss your cooking" Fitz wasn't surprised he knew his sister too well to know that she wanted something from him,
" You want me to cook for you today but I'm sorry I can't, remember I am mad at you for what your did yesterday" Fitz turned his face to the other side.
" But I already apologized Fitz, I'm sorry" she said making her pitiful puppy dog's eyes
" No I am immune to your charm" he said covering his eyes with his finger but not completely so he could still see her
" ahh, you're forgiven just this once, don't you ever try that again. it was really dangerous" Keera nodded at Fitz's words.
"Now let's go make you lunch" he lifted Keera up to his shoulder and walked outside to the kitchen.
Princess Keera and King Fitz were busy with their dinner when the arrival of Prince Cessiar was announced,
Keera face went sour immediately
" Not him again" she said underneath her breath but Fitz was able to hear her.
" Would you be nice?"
"Now you what me to pretend, I can't" she rolled her eyes
" Just behave would yourself"
" I'm not making any promises” she continued her food as she saw him approach them.
Prince Cessair was a Prince from the kingdom of Ulaid, he was a handsome well built guy, he was next in line to the throne after he elder brother Eldon, he was the guy Fitz planned to spend the rest of his life with, Yes Fitz was aware of his sexuality and so was the entire kingdom but they were not aware of his present relationship with Cessy. They both met in New York where they both studied together, his only problem was Keera who for some reason she didn't like him the sight of him made her upset.
"Good morning babe" Cessy greeted
"Good morning" Fitz stood up as gave Bass a kiss on the lips, Keera was about to say something but kept quite because of her brother's words
" Good morning my little queen, how are you doing today?"
" Am not your queen and my day was going awesome but your presence just ruined it" she dropped her spoon and left the table
"Keera, get back here. Keera" Fitz shouted but she didn't response to him. He was about to go after her when Cessy stopped him.
" Just let her be she's just a child” Cessy placed him back on his sit
"I don't understand why she acts that way towards you" Fitz ran his hand through his hair
" She didn't do anything wrong, maybe I'm the one who did something she didn't like" Cessy said with a smile on his face
" Would you stop pretending I know you're hurt by what Keera did" Fitz said holding Cessy's hand.
"Forget about that, yesterday you sounded angry on the phone that's why I came to make sure you're alright"
" oh about that, Keera went missing yesterday, we found her in Meath and thank goodness she was alright"
"What happened ,how did she get there?"
" its a long story but the good part is she's safe and back home, you shouldn't be worried” Fitz didn't want to see Cessy worried about anything
"this is all my fault, if I had accepted to move in with you as planned this wouldn't ha..." he was cut off by Fitz fingers on his lips
" That's enough of the self blame, you did nothing wrong so let's end it okay.''

"Freeze, hands up, put your hands where I can see them, your knees on the ground" a female yelled
"That's not how it is said you dummy" Aine said as he turned around to face Meridith. Meridith was the daughter of an elder of Meath and was a close friend of Aine
" I know but couldn't you play along" she rolled her eyes as she dropped the gun
"Well, I'm sorry I can't because that would make us two dummies, I'm supposed to be the smart one,"
Aine has been in love with Meridith for a while but he didn't have the courage to tell her, Meridith on the other hand was also in love with Aine and was ready to let him know
"So, tell me who is the unlucky girl in your life!" she asked as she sat down
" I'm too handsome and You know that I have a lot of girls chasing me, which makes it difficult to choose one, and what about you who is the unfortunate man?" Aine was hoping she could say no one
" I do have some I'm in love with, it’s been a while now but I'm not sure he feels the same way"
"Really, can you tell me who the person is so we could find out together"
" Okay I'll give you a hint, you have to guess, okay?"
" okay I'm ready" Aine replied forcing a smile on his face.
"He's the only son of a Lord"
"More clue they're many clans that have just one son" Aine pointed out
"Okay I guess so, alright he's tall, light skinned, he has Brown eyes and his hair is dark as well" she added
" This was harder that I thought, but give me more clues please" Meridith mentally slapped herself because she was literally describing Aine
" hmm, his strong, really strong, he's also a skilled fighter" Aine thought but no one came to mind, you couldn’t blame him… never in his wildest dreams would he have imagined that Meridith would be in love with him.
" I don't think I know him Meridith"
" I knew it, you're brainless" she scoffed
" I'm sorry, OK one more clue"
" if I say this you would know him, his name starts with the letter A" she stared at him waiting for his reply
" Wow Meridith I have no idea who your mystery man is just tell me"
"You Aine! You! for the love of mother earth, I have been describing your dumb ass for over 5minutes, I even mentioned the first letter of your name, how could you not know it was you?" she stood up to leave
" I'm sorry , I had no idea you liked me all this while, why didn't you say something" Aine grabbed her by the hand preventing her from leaving.
" Well its not a girls job to but you're too slow, I just had to" Meridith said with a smile on her face, Aine was all red he was both shy and embarrassed at the same time
" I can't believe the famous Aine is shy because a girl confessed to him"
" Who shy?, me?, never I was jus...." he was cut off from his words by a kiss from Meridith, She smiled and turned to leave when he grabbed her hand and pulled her into a more intense kiss.

The next morning, Fitz woke up early to prepare for the general council meeting , he hated the fact that Meath backed him up in a corner, he was a king for crying out loud, he was suppose to be the one making decisions not the other way around. He tried to put on his tie but his frustration couldn't let him.
"Can you not take it out on the tie" Cessy said with a smile as he observed Fitz battling with his tie.
" Let me help you" Cessy removed Fitz's hands from it and tied it properly
" Look at you been handsome, excuse me who's man are you?" Cessy put his arms around Fitz neck starring into his eyes
" Yours and only yours " Fitz kissed Cessy
"You look nervous"
" I'm not, I just can't wait to come back home to you, I miss you already" Fitz said
"Look at you being romantic" Cessy smiled at his man's cheesiness
"You know I am just for you" he pulled Cessy closer and placed his lips on his again but Cessy pulled out
" We wouldn't want to ruin you dress now, would we?'' there were sounds of vechines outside, Fitz took a deep breath before stepping outside.
Cessy prepared breakfast and sent for Keera, she came down with the hope of seeing her brother but instead she met Cessy
"Good morning Princess" Cessy said on seeing Keera.
"Where's Fitz?" was all she asked
"He went for a meeting he would be back soon, why don't you join me any have breakfast?" He offered her
" No, thank you, I'll rather wait for Fitz, enjoy your meal" she stated and headed back to her room.
The council room was in a deep panic and as usual the Meaths were sitting very confidently while the Leinsters clan were sitting in a pool of nervousness. They didn't like what was going on, the noise of both clan filled the room.
King Fitz walked in and the noise was subsided, everyone bowed as Fitz took his sit on the throne. He observed the room and could see the fear in the eye of the elders of Leinsters.
The court official stood up
"All case would now be presented before the king"
Lord Nevin was the first to start, he stood up and bowed before he proceeded
" My king, whatever we say here today is for the good of both clans, the only solution to the current situation is if we become part of each other and the only way that's is possible is when a Meath lives in the palace" lord Nevin took a pause Fitz was already uncomfortable with the idea he couldn’t allow a Meath to live in the palace but he had no idea what was coming next.
" On that note, we the Clan of Meath propose that your Majesty gets married to our son Aine”
