CHAPTER TWO : AINE

The journey to Meath was about a 4hours drive from Leinster, princess Keera was in her wonderland, not aware of fact that she far away from home, the car parked in front of Lord Nevin's home and the men alighted the vehicle.

" Did you get what I asked?” a young man said walking up to them examining them carefully

"Yes we did Aine, I don't want you bugging me. It’s in the back sit, we got it before we went to the palace” one of the men stated. Aine was the only son of Lord Nevin which made Lord Nevin spoil him to his heart's content, when Aine was young he didn't want to go to school because he always wanted to be around his father and Lord Nevin allowed it. He hated to see his son sad. Aine grew up been the best skilled fighter in Meath, there was no weapon he couldn't use.

"Aren’t you going to ask us on how the meeting went"

"No thanks, I'm not interested Chad, I already know the king gave nothing but bullshit at the court today nothing good would ever come out of Leinster, you should know that" Aine replied walking towards the back seat of the car, Chad and Aine's had been best friend for as long as they could remember.

"Chad!! what exactly did you buy?" Aine asked as he opened the backseat door to be greeted by princess Keera

" What are you talking about? I got what you asked for" Chad replied confused

"But I never asked you to buy a child, whose child is this?"

"Aine are you drunk? what child?" Chad was getting really confused 'Is he messing with me'

" The one in your car, come take a look yourself because I think I'm starting to see things" Aine said scratching the back of his head, Chad walked over to see what Aine was talking about. He was shocked to see Keera in the back seat.

" How did she get there?" Chad stated surprise

" I should be the one asking you that"

" Well I don't know… what should we do? Your father is going to kill me if he finds out" Chad grabbed Aine by his hand, his mind was all over the place right now.

"First let take her inside we can't leave her here" Aine noted

"Good point"

Aine carefully carried Keera out of the car and into his room, he laid her on his bed trying his best not to disturb her as he did. He then turned over to Chad, they needed to find a solution to their current problem.

A few minutes later princess Keera was up and was shocked to see three unfamiliar faces staring at her, the first thing that ran through her head was rule number one; DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS. Aine smiled to reassure Keera so she could feel safe but all she did was stare

" Hello little one, I'm Aine. What's your name?" he asked but there was no reply from the little girl sitting across him. Both Aine and Chad glared at each other before looking at Keera,

"Okay, umm… where do you live?” Chad asked hoping she would answer his question but she didn't either

"Maybe, she doesn't understand our language" Chad said quietly observing Keera

"I don't thinks so, I think she's just scared seeing strangers around her. Little one there's no need to be scared we just want to take you home but we can’t do that if you don't tell us where you live" he tried to persuade her into talking. They needed her to talk, say anything at least that could help them solve their current problem but Keera didn't bulge

"I think she's dumb or deaf th..."

" I'm either of those, I can hear and talk just fine" Keera rolled her eyes

"She spoke" Chad grinned feeling really relieved

"Wait so you could talk?"

"Of course I can, I just didn’t feel like talking to either of you" Keera replied

"I'm so relieved that you can talk, so tell us what's your name and where do you live so we can return you back home" Chad asked – He could escape from this madness

"And why would I tell you that, didn't your mother teach you not to talk to strangers?" Keera was not ready to say anything all she wanted was Fitz to come get her.

" She has a big mouth, I liked her more when she was quite" Chad's word made Aine laugh.

"Little one please tell us what we need to know, right now you're in my house and we don't know where you live. We found you as the back seat of his car" he pointed to Chad who was already tired of the conversation, they were repeating the same words all over again to her it was frustrating.

" I can't tell you anything my brother will get mad he said I shouldn't talk to strangers"

" it's no use Aine she's not going to say thing , this is a waste of time" at that statement Keera gave Chad a death stare

" I don't think she likes me, I'll leave her in your care" Chad quickly turned to leave

" Oh so now you’re just going to dump your problems on me as usual" Aine yelled but to no use Chad was gone. Aine turned to the cute girl sitting on his bed.

"Little one we're not strangers anymore, you know my name and you're in my house" Aine raised his hands as a form of expression hoping this finally gets her to talk

" I guess so" Keera tummy gave a cry that she was hungry

" You must be hungry, I'll prepare something for you to eat, I'll be back"

" I’m not hungry, there's no need for y...." her tummy disagreed with her, Aine smiled warmly and hurried out to get something for Keera to eat, he returned almost immediately with food in his hand and handed it over to Keera she stared at him for a few seconds before she started to eat.

"Now can you tell me your name" Aine tried his luck once again

" Keera, my name is Keera"

"That's a lovely name for a sweet little girl like you"

" Thank you" she smiled and continued to eat her food

" hmm where do you live?"

"Leinster" she answered, the one word he hated Leinster, it was filled with wealthy people who thought they could just walk all over him

" Leinster that's really far from here"

"where are we?" Keera asked as she dropped her plate

" Well, you're in Meath!!"

The mention of Meath made Keera open her eye wide, she knew they were the cause of her not having her fun time with her brother.

" It's was you" she shouted and pointed her tiny fingers to Aine who has not idea of what she was talking about.

" Me? what did I do?" she jumped from the bed and attacked Aine with both her hands and feet

"Wait, wait I have no idea why I'm been punished right now tell me" he successful remove Keera from him and placed her back on the bed.

" Why are you beating me?"

"You ruined my day" Keera shouted and grab Aine's hair

" it was because of you that my brother took me home early" she still kept her grip on his hair

" Little one wait you need to calm down please" he tried removing her hands from his hair but it felt like an impossible mission

" Who is your brother?" Aine asked still struggling with Keera

"And why would I tell you after what you did, you have to be punished" she yelled

" but haven't I been punished enough" Aine successful removed her hand from his hair and began to massage his scalp, he felt like he’d lost a couple of his hair to Keera.

" No death is the only punishment fit for your crime" she said in a low voice

" Isn't that a bit harsh?"

" No, it's not, I only get to go out to the park once every month and you ruined it, what was so important that you had to see him so urgently" Aine was trying to figure out who her brother was, maybe an elder in the council he thought to himself

"Why do you only go out once every month?When I was a child I often played in the park a lot"

" That's because my brother is always busy most times, I wish he could just be only my brother and nothing else, I really miss him" she said as tears rolled down her cheeks , seeing Keera cry was the last thing Aine wanted.

" How about we do this, I'll make it up to you by taking you to the park here and then take you home tomorrow? What do you say?" Keera thought for a few minutes before accepting to go with Aine.

As they got to the park Keera was a bit scared to go in because it was filled with children. She had never met other children her age before because she was home schooled. Fitz was always really cautious if her and was always protecting her from even the slightest things. Aine noticed the terrible expression on Keera's face

" What's wrong, don't you want to play any more?"

" I'm not used to seeing children like me" Keera bowed her head playing with her fingers

" you've never played with other children before?" she shook her head in response

" your brother needs a good beating I'm sure something is wrong with him, why would he be so over protective?"

" If you touch him I'm no longer your friend"

"oh, I'm just trying to help you and you’re protecting him" he laughed

" OK I'll play with you just for today, is that okay?" she nodded in excitement

"tag you're it" Aine yelled as he ran across the field but Keera stood watching him. She remembered her brother's second rule; "DON'T RUN TOO MUCH" Aine stood waving his hands indicating that Keera chase him, she walked over to him,

"Don't you understand the game you're to chase me"

" my brother said I shouldn't run"

" but he isn't here is he, so?"

"Tag you're it" Keera shouted as she took off. Aine chased her around the park, Keera hadn't had this much fun for as long as she could remember. The skies decided to shower its blessing by raining, Keera wasn't ready to stop playing even though she missed Fitz she also enjoyed her time with Aine, Aine was worried because the ground was becoming slippery and in a split second Keera fell into a puddle of mud breaking her brother last and most important rule " DON'T GET DIRTY" Aine ran over to Keera and helped her up,

"Are you okay?" he asked as he carefully checked her for any injuries

"Am okay, its just mud" she smiled

"I think that's enough for today, and besides it getting late" Aine knew Keera was going to catch a cold as well if they didn't leave. Aine carried her over his shoulder

"Put me down, would you. I'll walk myself now drop me" Keera struggled to get down

" The grounds are slippery, I don't worry you to get dirty again" Aine tried explaining but Keera was busy struggling to get down

King Fitz almost had a heart attack when he realized what Nanny Prealla meant

" She can't be missing, she must be somewhere in the palace, you know how she loves to play games" he said as he walked to the control room to check the CCTV camera, on the footage Keera was last seen walking towards the Court room.

" Meaths" Fitz exclaimed as he close his hand into a fist.

He rode his car with a group of guards with him as the car rode down the streets his eye constantly observing every corner of the street finally he sighted Keera on Aine's shoulder struggling to get down

"Stop the car right now" he yelled, he was about to spark… he hurried down the car and ran towards Aine and Keera.

"Would you stop struggling you are going to fall" Just then he felt someone grab Keera from his arms which made him stop his tracks

"Are you okay?" Fitz asked as he hugged Keera tight

" I am fine but your hug want to kill me" she stated

"I thought I lost you, let's go home" he said still holding her tight and carried her into the car as they drove to the palace

Fitz's guards came out of their cars to seize Aine who was quite bewildered by the sudden event. Aine put up quite a fight before he was over powered and taken to the palace.
