Elijah sat in his office, gazing at the camera feeds that covered the facility. His eyes narrowed as he turned his attention to the camera that revealed Lou. He was standing in a corner, unwavering, but something didn’t feel right. The screen did not reveal Veil’s presence, only Lou’s figure. “What the hell?” Elijah whispered to himself, lifting himself from his chair, eyes still trained on the screen. He buttoned his suit jacket. Pushing his chair back, he strode out of the office, then down the dark corridor, footsteps echoing. I didn’t see him wake up.
