Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. She and the man both jumped, startled by the sound. The man's face changed and Leora became scared. "What could that be?" he said. The knock came again, more insistent this time. "Are you expecting anyone?" she asked.... The man's expression turned dark. "Stay here," he said, and he strode to the door and opened it. She held her breath as she heard a muffled conversation at the door. She couldn't make out what was being said, but she heard the man's voice rising in anger. “What was happening? Who was at the door?” she thought to herself. Finally, the man turned back to her, his face like thunder. "You've been lying to me," he said, her mouth went dry. "W-what do you mean?" she stammered. The man grabbed her by the arm, his grip was so tight. "There is a police car outside," he said. "You were working with the police, weren't you? Trying to set me up?" Leora's mind was reeling. She had no idea what was going on, but she knew she had to get out of there. "No, please, you're mistaken," she said, her voice shaking. "Let me go, please." The man's grip tightened and Leora felt a sharp pain in her arm. "You're not going anywhere," he said, his face twisted with rage. "What do you want from me?" Leora asked, her voice trembling. "I think you know what I want," he said. she felt a wave of panic wash over her. She tried to pull away from him, but he held her fast. "No, please, I can't," she begged. "Please, don't do this." But the man didn't listen. His grip was like iron, and even as she was pulling hard it was helpless to resist. The man forced her towards the bed. "Please, stop," Leora said, her voice barely a whisper. "Please, I'll do anything." But the man didn't stop. He just kept pushing her closer and closer to the bed. Tears streaming down her face. She had never felt so afraid and so helpless in her life before. Just then as the man was about to hurt her, there was a loud crash, and the door burst open. A group of police officers rushed into the room, guns drawn. The man froze, and the police quickly restrained him. One of the officers came over to Leora, and helped her to her feet. "Are you okay?" the officer asked. Leora nodded, still in shock. The officer handed her a blanket, and she wrapped it around herself. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice shaking. The officer's face was a bit sour. "This man is a drug dealer and a human trafficker," he said. "He's been targeting young women like you, drugging them and shipping them off. You were supposed to be his next victim." Leora couldn't believe what she was hearing. "But... how did you know?" she asked. The officer looked at her with sympathy. "we picked up the call you had with him earlier so we tracked and followed you here.” Her eyes widened. "OMG?!” she said loudly. "Thank you," she said, clutching the blanket around her. The officer smiled. "You're welcome," he said. "Now, let's get you out of here." She got dressed up and he led her out of the room, and they walked down the hall to the elevator. As they rode down to the lobby. Leora tried to process everything that had happened. How had she ended up in this situation? And how the police was able to track her? Leora was still standing in the hallway, trying to process everything that had happened. One of the police officer who had rescued her was standing next to her, looking concerned. "Are you okay?" he asked, with a gentle voice. "I know this has been a lot to take in." Leora nodded, still at a loss for words. "Thank you," she finally managed to say again. "You guys saved my life." The officer smiled. "I was just doing my job," he said. As Leora stood there, lost in thought, she suddenly remembered a place she will go and drink everything that just happened off her mind. The bar where she used to work. It had been a while since she had been there, but the thought of it brought a sense of relief. Maybe, she thought, she could go there now, and get a drink. Just one drink, to clear her head and help her relax. So she turned to the officer. "I need to go somewhere," she said. "Is that okay?" The officer nodded. "Of course," he said. She slowly walked out of the building, the fresh air hitting her like a wave. She took a deep breath, and headed down the street towards the bar. As she got closer, she started feeling nostalgic; it felt like a lifetime ago. After about fifteen minutes she was there, she pushed open the door, and stepped inside. The familiar smell of stale beer and fried food hit her nose, and she smiled. She spotted the bartender, and walked over to the bar. "Hey there," she said. The bartender looked up and his eyes widened. "Leora!" he exclaimed. "Is that really you?" Leora nodded. "It's me," she said. "Long time no see." The bartender smiled. "What brings you back here?" he asked. Leora sighed. "You don’t wanna know," she said. "Can I get a drink?" The bartender nodded and poured her a glass of wine. "It's on the house," he said. Leora smiled, and took a sip. “So what have you been up to, looking for any more gigs?” She asked the bartender smiling. “Nah as you can see, I am pretty okay with this one. Can’t you see I am dripping”. The Bartender replied “Yeah I can see that. You – you really looking good. Did they give you a pay raise?” Leora asked curiously. The bartender smiling and waving off the question by not answering. There is a table way from where Leora and the Bartender are sitting at, there was a man starring at Leora. “Hey..erm I think that guy over there, he’s interested in you.” The bartender said. Leora after all she have been through today replied being irritated. “Which guy?” she asked. The bartender used his head to signal her where he is without attracting much attention. So she turned to looked at him. The moment she did they made eye contact and he started walking towards her.
