AVERY'S P.O.V
I audibly gasped but stopped myself from making another sound by pressing my hands to my lips. I felt the temperature in the room turn cold, Sir Damien and Alpha Lucien stared at each other wordlessly. Then Alpha Lucien nodded, it seemed they had been speaking through the pack link. He glanced at me and held my gaze for a few seconds before turning to Jessica.
"I never did find her"
My heart tugged painfully as my wolf whimpered.
"Oh" her voice was a tone higher as she grinned, her eyes sparked with delight as she stared up at him.
"Maybe you don't have a mate Luci" she tightened her hand on his.
He turned away from us disengaging her hand, "Yes, maybe. I'm going to my room"
